Off topic but sonny schmidt came to the uk in the 90’s, brought over by a promoter.I remember him telling us that Schmidt lived on McDonalds several times a day whilst over here and stayed in shapeThe next year Yates comes back and dominates everyone. Look how deep that lineup is though. Thirty competitors. Sarcev 11th! Sonbaty couldnt even place in the top 14. Its amazing to me that the legendary status of that show doesnt bring everyone out from the shadows to compete.
do we know who Hadi is being coached by now?

Hypothetical question but how do you guys think the top guys now would have placed back in the 90s/early 2000s (except for Ronnie and Jay)? I think they would have dominated
Hopefully my sarcasm detector needs a new battery.top guys today would dominate the top guys from the 90's and early 2000's

agreed, Sas should been higher….I am sorry, but Sas looked fuckin awesome, and Krizo did not. There is something weird going on with him where all the great parts do not add up to equal a good presentation idk. Sas should have been ahead of him. Idk![]()
If he can bring his waist/obliques in and learn how to spread his lats from the front (might be as simple as focusing on machine pullovers) he could make an awesome Mr OlympiaHonestly, I would be happy if Nick won Mr. O. Objectively, what are his flaws? Wide waist, ok. V-shaped figure in the shape of Keon or Tonio Burton is not his thing either. But the rest? Hardness, separation, mass, IMO the best arms in ifbb currently, improved legs. You can find fault with each of the last Mr. O. for something. Hadi for the lot of synthol in shoulders, Samson for the difficulty in getting in shape, Derek for one, dominant group (back) and only good rest. Nick really does not differ from these 3, because each has some flaws.
i am not joking
i believe that:
Samson
Hadi
Derek
Jacked
Nick
are better than
Levrone
Shawn Ray
Dillett
Cormier
Wheeler
It would probably be pretty obvious if the 90's guys were shot on contemporary video equipment as opposed to the grainy quality from back then.. made them look more defined than they actually were - at least in my estimation
It used to be a prestigious title and by far the biggest show outside of the Olympia and later on the Arnold. What’s the weird part? You just feel it’s less prestigious I assume?

You know whats so weird to me? The NY Pro is "The Night of Champions". Thats what it used to be called. That show was freaking bonkers back in the day...like whos who in bodybuilding. Freaks! Phil Hill, Markus Ruhl, Sonbaty, Heiko Kallbach etc etc etc. To see only 11 guys at that show now is shocking. There used to be 25-34 guys in that show. OLD GUY ALERT: I went to the 1990 and 1991 Night of Champions....its was nuts!
Yates first show and he was a freak but Benazziza was a phenom with a back that rivaled Yates. {Thats why Yates put BenaZ's pic up on his wall and spent all year never losing a back pose again to anyone}.
This was the lineup below. Morant was a walking house, Schmidt, Benfatto got 8th, Paris 14th!, Phil Hill came in off but was a Sherman Tank.
NOC or New York Pro used to be the freak show ! the show of mass !No way in hell.
Samson could compete in any era, no doubt about it. Andrew Jacked could stand on his own no doubt about it. But good luck for just about anyone else standing next to 97-98 El Sonbaty, Levrone at his best, Yates at his best or Flex in 1999.....for the rest of them...go to 1:10 in the video....who the hell is going to stand next to that and shine?
No way in hell.
