I think you're think of James Hetfield, not Kirk Hammet. Mustaine wouldn't have anything to offer Kirk Hammet from a guitar perspective. I've seen both and I disagree but it's all good. You like what you like. Don't get me wrong, I like Slayer a lot but they don't have the depth musically that Metallica does. Dave Mustaine went to Megadeth after Metallica and they were okay but took a while until they started producing some decent albums.

Definitely a unique sound and totally badass. Like I said, don't get me wrong. I'll rock the Slayer almost any day. They had that four-album stretch. Hell Awaits, Reign in Blood, South of Heaven, and Seasons in the Abyss... Listened to them a lot during that, wow, like a decade!!! But there was a lot of good music then. Just like now and the last few years, a lot of bands like Disturbed and Atreyu and Pantera (these are not new bands) but my son likes Pantera (???) I listened to Pantera when I was his age. Weird.

I like it all though. As long as it took talent and is not just noise. From rap to country to metal to soft pop like Manilow, Billy Joel, and Air Supply (I'm not even shitting you)
