I didnt know that there is a connection between HDL and anti-estrogens.
CONAN YOU ARE RIGHT.. but, those sides are usually with much higher dosages...some studies have suggested 40 mgs a day for prolonged periods being involved with sides..
Aren't there side effects with nolvadex?
obviously men won't get uterine malignancies but if its a carcinogen to women i'm sure its not great for us... that's a 43% increased risk of stroke. 200% increased risk of pulmonary embolism... its one thing for some guys to take it for a few weeks for pct but a long-term self medicated cholesterol control... i don't know. doesn't sound smart to me. see a doctor. my two centsUterine malignancies consist of both endometrial adenocarcinoma (incidence rate per 1,000 women-years of 2.20 for NOLVADEX vs 0.71 for placebo) and uterine sarcoma (incidence rate per 1,000 women-years of 0.17 for NOLVADEX vs 0.4 for placebo)*. For stroke, the incidence rate per 1,000 women-years was 1.43 for NOLVADEX vs 1.00 for placebo**. For pulmonary embolism, the incidence rate per 1,000 women-years was 0.75 for NOLVADEX versus 0.25 for placebo
I too have noticed an increase in HDL and drop in LDL when on very very low carbs. Its too bad nolva has sides. It was pretty commonly prescribed with HRT patients before many docs switched to adex. Im sure a low dose like 10mg wont do much harm long term, but i'd try and get the lipids in check with other supps, and like Lats said, only use during a cycle.
But what if HDL still sucks with only doing HRT ?
Gotta keep trying with diet. If all else fails maybe see a dr. to use some lipid meds.
