Non AS Drug Testing

Does anyone know for a fact if SSRI type medications are tested through hair drug testing when splaying for non civilian jobs? I know they check for everything through hair besides AS but not sure about non rec drugs like lexapro?

I'm talking NYPD and they are really really serious here.
They claim to be the most thorough out of all the depts or agency's.
They use a hair test and go months back.

Probably because most LE agencies wont hire someone who has ever been prescribed them.

I did have a script but learned the hard way it's not good to have shit like that on the record years ago
They will hire if you have been off them for a while. I am just curious if they test for them in police or fire depts. specifically NYC PD cause they are very very thorough.
I will stop taking them eventually, already started tapering, just need to know if they test for them.

The drug test might not get you, but the polygraph sure might. I know someone that was applying for government job, they were asked if they ever took a drug they didn't have a script for, that person didn't get the job.

Are they also going to do a psychological screening? Chances are they will do a psych screening and if you have a history of any psychological disorder they will request medical records.

They will also ask if you have ever had any panic/anxiety attacks or about your last episode of depression (if that is the case).

If you medical history is clear and you do not have a history of panic/anxiety attacks, they'll ask why you take the SSRIs. Hopefully you have a good reason that won't compromise your position with the NYPD.

If you are no longer on any SSRIs and they see you previously had a script for them, again, they'll go through your medical history and ask why you were taking them.

But to answer your question, for a general drug test, they will not likely test for SSRIs unless it is suspected that you are using SSRIs without previously telling them or without a prescription.

I truly doubt it. Never heard of that myself. Typcally just rec drugs.
