I guess with the advent of being injured I face the fact that I need to really just lift at this point and work on developing my personal training business here. Anyway, here is a shot of me doing dips with 200 lbs.

what is your injury? I missed that. I was wondering where you were since I haven't seen you posting much lately.

I know future will chime in but all I can say is if it's not a full squat it's not a squat!! Full deep squats are the safest for your knees. The only danger as with any squat is losing your balance or rounding your back which will result in a serious back injury. I have always done deep squats, never had knee trouble. I only wrap on my heaviest set.
 
Anything can be unsafe if your body isn't ready for it or you use bad form or both. I have never had issues with the squatting. But I wouldn't tell someone that needed to go that deep but I do think it is the best way if you can safely accomplish the range of motion.

...injury was a small pull, possible tear in my back from deads on Saturday.
