Numbness in left arm, wrist, fingers

I have been having this problem for a few months now and it isn't getting any better. I don't have a very physical job where I'm doing a lot of lifting but I do a fair amount of sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, and overall cleaning. I am right handed so I use that hand more than my left. Now, every time I begin to use my right arm it gets tingles, numbness, and the "pins and needles" feeling that goes all the way down my arm to my wrist and fingers. The fingers it affects most are index and middle finger, but I can feel it in my whole hand. Does anyone have any idea what this is? I suspect possibly carpal tunnel or a pinched nerve. Let me know what you think.

Thank you.

Numbness left side could be heart . Should be checked by doctor .
Pinched nerve also .
Motrin and flexeral if pinched nerve . Chiropractor or Art specialist .
Carpal tunnel in wrist will improve with rest . Heat and cold press therapy .

Good luck

Sounds like it could be cervical nerve impingement if you have this problem in your arm and hand. I had the exact same symptoms. I had disc degeneration at C4, C5 and C6 with bone spurs pressing on nerve roots. Have it checked if you have had this for months. It does not correct itself.

I've had a disc problem, c6, for about 10 years now. At times, I'll have pain across top of back, under shoulder blade, down my left arm, elbow, and hand, but typically my index and middle or my pinky and ring finger will be numb.

Most recently my entire arm mostly would go numb, and again a few fingers. PT helped a lot years ago, a chiro did nothing but did help surrounding areas, message therapy has been the best for me overall. I was in so much pain I could not sit, I would flip out driving because the pain was so bad, could take a handful of opiates and it still hurt.

No more opiates, message therapy to really work on the areas around the neck, and under shoulder blade and close to the spine on both sides. Works wonders for me, reduces a lot of the pain, not as much the numbness but it helps. Only problem is I feel like I was hit by a car for two days after the message. Now I go on a regular basis.

Thanks for the replies. Do you recommend going to a regular doctor? Or just schedule an appointment with a chiropractor right away?

Well, to know if that is indeed a cervical issue, you will need an x-ray and probably an MRI. I would op for a sports ortho doc if it were me. Then you can decide what course you want to take with info in hand.

Im going through something similar. I had xrays and there is no cervical entrapment but there is entrapment near the shoulder. A respectable sports Doc suggested I go for PT and ART. He said it has been the best course with his other patients that experience the same issue.
