NYC gyms..

Have to start doing some trips into the city next week. Looks like I'll be doing this every 6 weeks..flying in Sunday evening and out on Friday afternoon.
Staying at 57th St. near 9th Ave this time out, but I don't mind hopping on the train for a good old school cheap gym. Any ideas? Won't have car.
I see reviews for Ludlow's and Mid City that look OK....anything else?

Just looking to throw some metal around.

Not quite in your area, but a short ride down on the Q train to Steel Gym in Chelsea.. Not cheap either.

But I was training there last Friday with Victor Martinez... So if it's good enough for him...

Boom is the cheapest gym in the city but I think you'd have to venture 25 blocks or so away. There are NYSC's everyone. Also a ton of Equinox's but those are expensive.

I just shot Steel an e-mail...I'll see what the rates are.
Ludlow's says $30 for the week....I don't think that's bad.

I'll train Mon,Tue,Wed and Thursday night.

Just asked today.. It's $15/day out of town/hotel rate, $25/day for locals who don't want to join up.

Hey brother you don't need a car in NYC, no parking anyway. I got a friend who lives on 92nd and 3rd, and he's been in the biz since the 70's, i'll see if i can find him, maybe he can get you a good rate at a good hard core gym.I'll give it my best shot.BTW you'll love the women here, like a 6 to one ratio, no bull.

MidCity is the move dude
They have excellent equipment
Plenty of weights.

Crunch uppereastside isn't too bad, pricing for all gyms in NYC isn't good, another reason I disliked living there

pricing in nyc gyms are horrendous. actually pricing for anything in nyc is depressing. i pay $130 a month for my gym now

That a 2K rent for a Studio when I was up there...fun while it lasted but glad I moved out

I'm coming in Sunday night. Training at Mid City Monday-Tuesday night, then Steel Wednesday-Thursday night.
Back in late August...staying in SoHo that time...so probably at Steel every night. I'm going to see if they'll cut me some sort of deal
