O/T: All-Inclusive Honeymoon Resorts

I figured I can't be the only guy on here planning a wedding and looking for a honeymoon location... So why not post a thread.... (By the way, thank you to those who offered advice on diamond rings a while back)

So my fiance and I are looking for an all-inclusive resort around the Caribbean (Hawaii can also be considered). We are trying to stay under $6,000.00 on the resort...

Our MUST HAVES: 1) Adults only 2) All inclusive resort 3) Beach front 4) Gym on premises 5) Some sense of privacy

And we want to go to a place we have never been so Cancun, Jamaica and Bermuda are out...

Family members of mine have stayed at Iberostar Grand resorts and suggested these two places:

If you're looking to meet people and be social Club Med at Turks and Caicos fits the bill!! So much fun!!

That looks nice, but we are looking for a place that is more geared to relaxing that still has a place to train at... ( I was planning on not training, she's the one who won't take a cruise lol)

I stayed at that Iberostar in Punta Cana last year. It is very laid back, a lot of european people and it seemed like an older crowd. Now if you want to just go there and be by yourself that is the place. Very low key, no loud music.

I also stayed at the Hard Rock in Punta Cana last year. I like it better than Iberostar, because it was HUGE place, better restaurants, and they had a HUGE casino(if your into that) It is more of a party atmosphere than Iberostar, but its also big enough you could do your own thing as a couple.

Now if you want to go to Playa...I highly suggest The Royal in Playa. I will be staying there for the 3rd time this summer. Close to little shopping area and there is a place right outside the hotel that serves the best street tacos you have ever had.

All 3 places mentioned above are adult only. If I had to choose again here is the order I would put them.

1. The Royal in Playa
2. The Hard Rock---Cool place with all the rock memorabilia, plus the casino, and they have a cool 80's club where they have an awesome cover band.
3. Iberostar in Punta Cana---To laid back for my taste.

All 3 places have gyms, but I never found them because I do not workout while on vacation. Plus being on a honeymoon you will get plenty of cardio.

Sandos playacar adult select club, greatest place I've ever been. I've traveled all over the world and this is the place. Huge resort, tons of things to do, and it's beautiful!!! I've been 10 times and won't go back to any other resort! I'm getting married there next year. Rooms are beautiful, especially the honeymoon suite!!! Google it it's great, BJO! Have fun bro!

NOsupermodel - Awesome information! Especially considering we were thinking about the Iberostar in Punta Cana. We do like to go out dancing and stuff, so the Hard Rock might be an option. But the Royal is gorgeous! We are going to discuss the pros and cons of all three of these later tonight.

Hey bro, this place isn't to exotic but is perfect. Its in Pennsylvania paradise streams. Adult only, couples only and a lot of fun. It can be expensive. Prob nowhere near 6k though. I took my wife there to propose then again just because. They have a lot of fun couples things depending on where you wanna go. IMO its the nice at place in the states to go with your future wife.... SHIT, sorry, I didn't see the beach front thing. Check it out anyway.

Park Royal Cozumel in Cozumel Mexico is extremely nice, friendly hospitality by all the staff. And a very clean resort. All inclusive with a considerably healthy breakfast, lunch and dinner. Three swim up bars with food. They also have two different restaurants, a Mexican and Italian both fine cuisine dinning. You'll have to make reservations early in the day for either of these two. The salmon pinwheels at the Italian restaurant is incredible!

The gym is ok. Nothing fantastic.

My wife and I got married on the beach there two years ago. We just went again a few months ago. The water is crystal clear, snorkeling the coral reefs is amazing. Cozumel is a very safe island, considering it's in Mexico. We were walking around at midnight with no worries. You can rent a jeep or scooter and tour the whole island.

I highly recommend this place, fairly reasonably priced.

It's not an adult only resort, there are adult only in Cozumel tho.

Can you also get that romantic feel at hard rock? I mean for a vacation it seems like that bees knees but it is our honeymoon so we do want that nice private romantic feel as well

I grew up just north of the there and went to undergrad in Allentown, PA... very familiar with that area. Great suggestion for a nearby destination... I might take her there for a long weekend since it is not all that far. Thanks

A guy I work with just got married and went to an all-inclusive resort in Peurto Rico and said it was great and it was fairly cheap. I found it interesting though he says you can only leave the resort "at your own risk" because there is no real law in Puerto Rico it is run by gangs. Other than that though he said it was nice.

Punta Cana Dominican Republic. Its real nice. Went for a week with the misses for 2500 all inclusive. NO kids. Beach front. All you can eat and lost of activities. I'm big on savings so its a great value. Went to Thailand for 5k and its was nice but too hot and not worth the extra money in my opinion. FYI all inclusive outside of the caribbean are alot harder to find.

The Sandals Super Clubs are the best "all adult" clubs that I have visited so far. They are located all around various vacation spots and offer all inclusive, which is the way to go in my book.

After looking around at a few of the places you guys mentioned, we really like the new Hard Rock Heaven resort in Riviera Maya.

The only issue is booking this far out... look like we will have to wait to book.

There are soooo many choices!!!!

We went to Sandals in the Bahamas back in 1999 and it was nice but if you are looking for a beach it would not be a good choice. The beach was really small and almost nobody used it; everybody was at the pool. Definitely did not have the beach type feel. It was a free vacation for us because they screwed up our wedding at Montego Bay a year earlier and comped us everything but airfare; but if I had to pay for it I would go elsewhere.
