O/T Birds

Here in OZ we have some incredible birds, one in particular called a Rainbow Lorikeet. As the name implies they look like they have been splattered with all the brightest colors you could imagine.

Well anyway at the front of my gym is a very large sliding glass door and windows. At least once or now twice week I will be here on the puter and BANG!!!! into the window these crazy birds will fly. About 80% of them will recover from a knockout blow, the other 20% well not quite so lucky, it is heartbreaking to see such an incredible bird do this. I just rescued one now and he was one of the lucky ones.........he will live to this another day I'm sure.

Birds here in the states don't do that..maybe those birds are not afraid of people?

My wife and I used to own four of these in addition to about 12 other variety of lorie/lorikeet. These birds are absolutely more athletic than you can imagine and require plenty of toys, as they play nonstop. However, they are very tempermental, and the slightest change might cause their usual kisses to become a bite out of your lip. Great fun to watch though.
