Did it and lost a ton in the tech stock boom. Trust me, any tips you get are BS. Forget the movie name - about stocktraders pushing bs companies. Years ago everyone went by the PE ratio of a company, which said if it really had any value. Nowadays its just gambling, plain and simple.
Warren Buffet said something similar to: Buy good companies at fair prices not bad companies at great prices. So that little startup that went public that seems so tempting likely went public to generate funds for their CEO's. I have had stocks plummett from some jackass saying one thing on CNN that had nothing to do with the company. From now on if I cant touch it I aint investing in it. Real Estate, Vintage Cars, etc. they may go up and down but no one is gonna pull a freakin ENRON on me and make my life savings disappear.
Lately, housing is cheap. Tons of renters - since they cant get a mortgage. However, Day trading is fun - just dont go on margin.
