O/T Help dealing with a Mental Health patient at work.

The restaurant I manage is in a village of shops. There is a large amount of residential housing in the surrounding area. The past few weeks a man that lives in one of the apartment building's keeps coming in not only this restaurant but our other one and various shopps to use the phone. Whenever he is told that he cannot he becomes agressive, especially with women. If you stand your ground and tell him to leave he will, but will first say he is a cop, and that he WILL use the phone.


Long story short I had to have him removed last saturday night, nad have seen him before smashing on store windows pulling on locked doors...etc. Unfortunately the local PD is aware of him and the fact that he is a mental health patient who has a case worker visit him daily. I'm not sure what to do next because I obviously can't simply appease him and dont want to trigger any violent behavior. I mean what if this guy smashed a window with customers sitting next ot it? And I'm also concerned that he may hurt himself.

Today I had to have the police pick him up once and he's already back in the village. The police said if the pick him up enough they can have a judge order him comitted for an evaluation. But if anyone has any idea of what to do in the mean time please let me know. It's kind of touchy and since I have no training dealing with people like this I dont want to trigger any aggressive behavior from him.

We have such patients coming to our store as well. Sometimes they become aggressive. We are trying to walk them out or call the cops. Cops drive them home, they come back. Usually less aggressive at first, then it happens again and again. They are supposed to take their meds, but they won't. I don't think you can do anything about it unless all the neighborhood will start complaining about loosing money or reputation because of him. Cops can't do anything because he is mentally sick, doctors can't do anything because he is not sick enough. Weird stuff.
