O/T Oh a rafting we will go....

Ok so... im here in NC visitng dad for a few days and apparently they have a man-made white water rafting facility here in Charlotte. Dad has been dying to go and no one will go with him so...... I have been suckered into going.. apparently its category 3-4 rapids which is fine.. I have done the real thing in Austria when I went to Europe last year. This should be pretty interesting , lets hope dad doesnt fall in the water. I would hate to be forced to laugh at his misfortune. hahahaha

I live in SC and just went there last week for the first time. Make sure you bring some sandals (not flip-flops) or you will have to rent there wet socks like I did. They have 2 man made rivers one with class 2 & 3 rapids and the other has class 3 & 4 rapids.

i live in charlotte, havent been there yet, made a few attempts the summer but always ended up doing something else. i have some friends that have went, wish they were members on here to give you some pointers. be sure to tell your instructor your not a noob so you can skip the BS learner course. they said it was worth the money though. you should have a good time. do you mind me asking what part of town your staying at?

Thanks for posting.. yea i am excited.. i doubt it will live up to the real thing in Austria last summer but dad wants to go... i ran to the local target and bought some wet shoes for like $5. I will go through the newbie course since dad has never been I dont think. I am visting dad in Lake Wylie, SC just over the state line.

I love Lake Wylie!! I lived in Rock Hill for about 5-6 years in the early 90's, and stayed on the lake any chance I got..

I currently reside near the State Line right below Tryon. Went rafting a few weeks ago up at Nantahala.

awesome..... yea i like it here... no one on the lake this year really.. the water level is too low and now are on water restrctions. all the boat drops are closed except for the one at ummm whats that resteraunt called right on the water....

thats cool i used to own a house right off 160 and tryon before i moved to CA

Not quite sure. I had a friend that lived in a gated community called "WindJammer" (I think that was the name of it). We would go out on the boat about every weekend.

Thanks JT , i thought of u when i was out there on the water... it was awesome... i only got knocked out of the boar once... ended up under it.. thank God its man-made and not too much risk of injury....

it was a good time and would highly recommend it to anyone in the area. they also have a rock wall and a zip line....

i moved away a year ago.. yea i used to have a house in coventry.. right behind the huge super target and stuff on 160/49. most of that stuff wasnt built yet in that plaza. i came home and was in shock to see it all. whats good tonight???? im kinda bored here lol
