O/T Question for computer gurus

If the viruses can't be quarantined and don't want to try kaspersky or another program like spyware terminator that's good you may have to take it to a computer shop like I have. Where I live a computer shop I've gone to will reformat for $60.00 .

$60 isn't bad. I think I paid $100 last time they reloaded another computer of mine. Its running okay now. I was getting that blue screen for a second when I booted up the computer. It wouldn't let me defrag. it til I ran the disk check. I figured out how to run that to check the C drive for errors. I'll see how it runs, I might have to bring it in. I appreciate all the good info from everybody and the programs that everybody recommended.

Just gave my laptop to my gf. I have no use for one and I need more practice on my speed on a regular keyboard. I just ran that combofix again and it cleaned a whistler virus it said. It all seems to be gtg now. I think I may be ok. No need to put any money into this computer. I will just buy a new one later on. Thanks again for all the help from everyone.

I just ran the malewarebytes again and it showed 0 threats and infections. I think all the software did its job. The only problem I've been having though is my computer has shut down by itself a couple of times the last few days. I was in the middle of typing another thread on here and it shut down.

Anybody know what would cause that? The power light was blinking too.
