O/T: Sciatica help

Sciatica was one of the worst pains I ever endured. I somehow got through my with only ibuprofen. Time + rest, assuming the nerve isn't pinched to the point where surgery needed to fix it.

That's where I was at nothing helped, leg and foot tingling, and the pain was horrible, lived on pain meds until surgery.

The first bout, I went to the ortho and he just gave me meds and said he would send me to therapy if I hadn't been going out of town. This time just to chiro so far. It tok about 6 weeks to cear up last time so, I''ll give the chiro a couple more weeks and if nothing much changes, i'll head back to the ortht for more indepth probing.

Wishing you a speedy recovery. One of the most painful and debilitating pains ever. Had it twice too. Once from back pocket/wallet syndrome and the other a dead lifting injury. Time is a healer... Pain meds are a must. Otherwise no sleep, sitting, laying , standing. Ridiculous.

Its not easy to diagnose without a mri. Try to look into Mckenzie exercises.

I also purchased an inversion board. I kept it at my office, when I sold the building the guy that bought the building put in a stipulation that the inversion board stayed.

It was a big help to me. I also used the same "stretch" machine at chiropractors. I could not ride in a car more than an hour without pulling over and walking down the highway.

I did sit on tennis balls which helped a bit.

After my hip replacement, bingo, no more sciatic problems!

BTW I was very against pain pills, but my therapist (not doctor) encouraged me to incorporate them because he said they altered the communication channel with the nerves and brain. He was right. It only took two or three days.

Feeling somewhat better, went to the chiro again today and he said I should be in pretty good shape by the end of next week. If not back to the ortho and see about some mri's, and looking into and inversion table as well. Don't even whisper "hip replacement" I've already replaced both knees, that's enough LOL
