I read about this, what a tragedy. Sounds like many are banding together to try and cope with the situation. Thoughts and prayers for all those effected

Australians have raised over $31million in the last 24 hours. Masses of volunteers are it the fire zones now.

There's an army of vets just catering to injured animals.

In all the tragedy and suffering you see images like tis and it is heartwarming but also heartwrenching to think that the real cost of the losses will never be fully realized. The sheer speed at which these fires travelled across the countryside would have just swallowed everything in its' path. I don't want to think of the loss of wildlife here.

The total for money raised is now at just over 50 mil!!! How generous are these folks? Really rallying to help these people to regain some of their lives. This weekend will be a real test, temp expected to soar once again to well over the 100f mark. ust what they don't need. And here where I am it is still raining, just not quite as much!! Awesome. And I see they literally have an army of detectives working the arson cases. One arrest made in the Churchill fire. He is also charged with possession of child porn! Well there is a clue to what kind of person he is!! Scum!

its so sad when thing like this happen when nature is the cause off it,but it hurts way way more when some jerk off starts a fire on perposse and inocent people loose their lives.i find nothing funny or cool with shit like that.hope they get who ever is responsible for this and skin them alive.

Police arrested and charged a 39 year old male in connection with the Gippsland fire that killed 21 people. This was just last night. So they are moving fast on any leads given to them. Thye want these fuckers caught. Problem is our justice system her eis too weak. they will never do the time for the crime they committed. Some shrink will evalute them, deem them unfit for trial, institionalise them and let them out in a couple of years as rehabilitated upstanding citizens! FUCK THAT, torch them like they did those others in these fires and let them burn alive!!

I was worried about all of you down in Oz. Glad to hear you are OK. My thoughts and prayers are with the victims. The fact that these fires may have been purposely set is outrageous!

The bushfire appeal has raised more than 100mil now!!!
One of the arsonists has been removed to protctive custody soewhere because of fear for his safety??????? HIS SAFETY????? WTF???

What about the safety of the 21 victims he has killed for his kicks?? Where is there protection??? I get so fucking frustrated at the system here. OH he will only ever face a maximum imposed sentence of 25 years for his acts!!! Bullshit!!! He will not spend 3 years of it behind bars if it goes how I think it will.

The one fire he is responsible for still burns out of control butr is now in an unopoulated area. Not populated by people but what about all the native animals he is killing with his fire as well??? I guess that does not count anymore.

But on a brighter note, 100 million dollars has been raiswd through the generosity of ordinary asutralians and some of the corporate sector here. It is still on going this fundraiser and who knows where it will stop. We have some very good people here!!
