O/T Update on my Dad. Tic Delaroux

So they thought it was just Bells Palsy but furthur testing has show its Tic Delaroux. Im suprised they didnt know this at first from the extremem headaches and pain he would get when he touched his face. The doc put him back on predisone. I guess this is all caused by inflammation due to age and stress and the pred should reduce the inflammation. He is scheduling an appt with a top neuro this week who specializes in this b/c he doesnt wanna settle for any nuerologist and he does have excellent insurance. At least its not life threatening but he's worried about permanent damage and permanent pain. Anyone with an expierence in this? How was the outcome? Thanks

They can insert a teflon shield in the foramen (hole) that the trigeminal nerve exits the cranium. There are several different options for treating trigeminal neuralgia. Best wishes for a speedy resolution to the problem.
