Oats - Who knew?

Steel cut oats or the whole oat (not pressed) ground in a coffee grinder and cooked. Chewing is optional..
 
Or the oats ground in coffee grinder and mixed with eggs and water. Use that to make pancakes.. The best pancakes I ever had.
 
It's my favorite things to eat before the gym
Oats + vanilla protein powder + blueberries = that's what I like!
 
Such a good carb source I often use it even with my chicken I just like that I can use cinnamon on it and maybe even a little packet of truvia curves my sweet tooth during dieting phases

Really made me think twice about using oats. As well as other grains. Perhaps steel cut would be better.
 
I love oats and protein pre and post workout. It's hard to get enough fast digestible carbs for me and they help a butt load

How much oats do you eat pre workout? and how long before the actual workout?

I'm asking because I feel like oats making me really sleepy. Usually have the first thing in the morning with some whey protein 1 h before my workout.

My post workout fave is oats with 3 -4 slices of cut up peameal bacon. Topped with coconut milk and cinnamon
