Thought this might be a little fun to get get everyone's opinion on what is acceptable off season weight/bf% and realistically what on stage weight/bf% would be.
This concept just recently popped into my head after competing in my first show a few weeks ago. I began dieting 15 weeks out @ 216lbs 9%bf. I thought to myself "i can probably grow into the show and step on stage at around 200lb 5%bf%...
...well man was i wrong! Ended up weighing in the night before @ 187lbs ~5%bf. I clearly over dieted and lost muscle, but hey it was my first time actually dieting and i didnt know exactly what i was doing.
This just showed me that i HAVE to pack on more weight next time before dieting.
My realistic view now is:
Off season - 235-240lbs 15%bf max
Stage - 195-205lbs 4-5%bf
Just from all the transformations ive seen take place on this board, a 40-50lb weight loss from off season to stage condition seems to be the average.
So what are ur thoughts? What are ur plans for off season/stage weight and bf%?
