Off t3 after 7 months

Used 25 mcg t3 for 7 during HRT. as prescribed by an anti aging clinic. However January 1st decided to stop everythin did a 4 day taper and quit cold turkey pretty much.
Has anyone done tht before? I am having all the sides of low thyroid like lack of energy constipation etc.
For those of you who have used, how long did it take for thyroid to recover?
And how strict should i be with my diet to avoid fat gain.?

shouldnt take longer than a few weeks to be fully recovered. when i came off t3 the last time i felt a huge drop in appetite for about 1 week, then i was fine again. it was actually the only difference i noticed.

there are studies on people who have been on t3 therapy for YEARS and then stopped cold turkey. they ALL fully recovered within something like 4-6 weeks.

you could either keep calories down a bit for a couple weeks, but decreasing calories always means you decrease t4 to t3 conversion aswell.

i'd go high carbs low fat for 3-4 weeks, because high carbs are usually associated with increased thyroid output. i think it would be better like that, even though you might see some fat gain during the first few weeks. a fully recovered thyroid would be more important to me though.

Very good post, on the money. I've never had any sort of rebound stopping t3. Don't taper and even up calories a bit as I'm finishing cut. I do eat clean but that's it
