I liked the parachute pants too. I had grey, white, and black. About 2 pairs in each color,lol. Wore those to high school a lot. I also had a leather jacket similar to the one Michael Jackson wore in thriller.

That does enlighten one on a few things. LOL

I am a Pekkerwood. However, I went to the big city at 17 and did well. We got recruited to work security at the largest concert venue in town.

I was the least impressed with the music at the time. My backstage pass was for picking up girls or to be sold to someone with the same idea. Early 80's when I was in school. Never truly appreciated what I got until much later. Holy shit. I did not just get to be there, I had to be there at 4 in the afternoon for sound checks, planning etc.

Hearing the private discussions was cool as hell. Learning who were dicks was a bit down putting but these were not my heroes at the time. I was a football player and athletes were my stars.

Saw everyone who came through ATL from 1981-83 or so except in the Fall.

Also worked the Fox Theatre. Burned one with Miss Jett early on in her career etc. I too, have many stories.

Too help Maldorf, I used to wake up at 2 and go to the Most famous dump, Clermont Inn and walk the girls to there cars. Members only Jacket all the way, even in summer.

Also had a little Accept mixed in there - LOL. Saw those guys open for Priest back around 84.. Good band at the time.

i saw gnr in 87 maybe 88..."sweet child mine" had just broke thru but they were still headlining a club tour...15$ maybe...i was 17ish...they were all fucked up and sounded like complete shit...steven adler(?) was still in the band.

they bored the shit outta me...chicks were hot tho...i can still smell the aquanet.

Holy shit I had the exact same experience. GnR came in 87 and they were friggin TRASHED. In fact I think Axl got pissed because of the boos.
Another note - Hank Jr came once and couldnt fuggin sit on the stool they put out for him. Fell face down ass up I shit you not. You talk about some pissed off rednecks and coonasses!

I had / have a wide range of music taste - loved metal - hair band - MJ - classical (love symphony!)
