off topic..? What movies made you cry??

Million Dollar Baby...yeah, sad ending...

oh yes, and understandable too.

I am thoroughly impressed with the openness and maturity in this thread.

Brokeback Mountain. I was nearly convulsing I was sobbing so hard at the end...and all the way through the parking lot to my vehicle.

THE CHAMP John Voight was a boxer and Ricky Schroder was the son.

Ladder 49, that one got me pretty good

Yeah I was watching that movie for the second time the other day, and when it got like 20 minute from the end I started cursing at myself because I just remembered that the end is so sad, and I'm going to start balling - but of course can't stop watching it with 20 minutes left.

But I put it up there with the notebook and steel magnolias.

But also "helen the baby fox" is a really good Japanese movie, extremely sad - about a deaf and blind fox.

I really liked that movie too. It had a down-to-earth quality that made the characters and the crisis believable. Some movies today go way to far over the top.

Movie: Old Yeller.

Book: Where the Red Fern Grows.

three that get me every time I watch them..
(spoilers to some of them below title)

1. Glory -

Denzel Washington, Morgan Freeman and Matthew Broderick lay down their lives for freedom while fighting in the 54th Massachusetts Volunteer Regiment during the American Civil War.

2. Somewhere in Time -

Christopher Reeve is in this and stars with Jane Seymour who find and lose love through the bending of time itself.

3. The Hurricane -

Denzel again stars in the epic TRUE STORY of Reuben "Hurricane" Carter, the former #1 contender for the middleweight title, who finds himself in a lifelong battle with the New Jersey courts while behind prison bars.
Decades come and go as do celebrities that try to fight for his appeal.
Nearly 20 years after he is incarcerated. A young boy reads a book Ruben writes while in jail- "The 16th round".
This boy then embarks on a grueling mission to find a way to exonerate Reuben carter of the crimes he has been accused of.
I find this story amazing beyond words..

and now no one make fun of me please...lol3
But I cry any time I watch the cartoon "The last Unicorn" lol
Yes I know its a little girlie movie but sorry its too damn cute and special to not cry at the end :p

I AM SAM

What about "I am Sam" Sean Penn.
I teared up off cycle when it came out. Watched it a month ago while ON.
I had to turn it off.
Anyone agree?
Anybody that doesn't tear up during this one especially while ON doesn't have a heart.

superman returns where he gets stabbed by kryptonite shank and dragged by the face.

Life is Beautiful... that one's a killer at the end...

something about animals dying really gets my tears flowing. when real humans are dying, i don't get the same thing.

my shrink says it is either an emotional distancing thing, or the fact that shortly after birth i was abandoned by my parents at yellowstone and raised by wolves.

Ok so I'm emotionally cut off however...
Ice Castles was the last movie that made me teary eyed.
At the end when she falls on the roses being thrown into the rink and R/Benson says, "Forgot about the flowers".
:(

Great thread, Glad I am not as much of a pussy as I thought :)

Gladiator....at the end

Dances with Wolves .... at the end with Wind in his hair is shouting down to him and stands with fists

Ghost..... at the end, and when I hear that damn song lol

300...when the leonidas was looking up, my queen, my wife, my love

you got mail..... the end

Notting hill....... the final press meeting

Life is beautiful........the end speech.

Braveheart......the end.

well there are a few others as mentioned in this thread, Damn need to get some adex and kill off this estrogen LOL.

brave heart every time, knotting hill when she delivers that infamous line. so much emotion behind it were you know she knows she screwed up. the first rambo, and the ending to the fourth one got me choked up. bridge to teribithia i hate that movie. very freaking sad. meet the robinsons got the wife, and i a little choked up just becouse some of it hit to close to home towards the end lol.

oh last one mercury rising at the end. i work with a special needs child so the last scene in that movie tugs at your heart strings there.

After seeing a few people post about The Mist's ending, I decided to give it a view... man, that was heartbreaking.
