Offseason eating........Subway....Bulking on the road

How do you guys feel about Subway?.......im offseason right trying to bulk and put on some weight.....Well today i didn't have time to cook and knew i would be on the road for a few hours. So i just went to subway and got 2 footlong turkeys with veggies and mustard(no cheese). Packed them away in my cooler and hit the road. Its not something i do always maybe once a month, but i thought it would be a good way to pack in some calories.....not to mention i had my liquid aminos and almonds etc....

oh i i didn't eat them at the same time lol i used them for two seperate meals.
 
look up the nutrition facts at subway.com and if you think they fit into ur diet plan. then eat em.

i think i wrote this tread wrong......i was more or less just asking what everyone else does when they are in a bind and need food?
 
When I do travel, I personally eat protein bars, almonds...for whole meals if I go somewhere to eat I get steak and veggies/rice, eggs and dry wheat toast, and I even do subway when I am away...it is offseason, so I know it will not kill me. I look at it like this, at least I am not eating a triple from Wendy's.
 
thats a good point.....i try to eat pretty clean in the off season....lots and lots of calories.....but from clean sources like u said almonds, egg yokes,fish, mac nut oil etc.....
 
try this subway sandwich:
roasted chicken breast on 9 grain honey oat bread, all the veggies + cucumber. Ditch the cheese and olive oil, plus the salt, and you've got something healthy right there

thats usually what i get but with turkey instead of chicken
 
the roasted chicken breast foot long on wheat is the way to go, i get veggies and olive oil, bland but great.

Ditto except I keep the cheese. Love that stuff way too much!
 
on the road...footlong dbl turkey on wheat, olive oil and vinegar, lettuce, onions, splash of chipotle sauce and oregeno....:rolleyes: Prob eat 4 or so a week in offseason while traveling....that Pei Wei and burrito places
 
nothing wrong with subway

ill eat it, even if i have time to cook LOL :)

ill usually go for a footlong double stack turkey on oat and honey, with swiss cheese, and lettuce. its all good.
that comes to around 750 calories.
and around 50 grams of protein.
not too shabby. :)
 
Don't forget SMOOTHIE KING! One of their MEDIUM SIZED ''Hulk'' smoothies has 1,500+ calories, and around 50g of protein. :D
 
double or tripple the meat all the veggies!

I ate a subway yesterday, for me its one of the only ways i get veggies in my son;s diet, so I have to eat one too!! make the most of it. I don;t bother with the footlong just stick to the 6 inch and max out the ingredients

When I try to gain more lean body mass I just increase my calories. I don't change what I eat. If you don't eat subway before a contest then don't eat it after. I'm only speaking from the stand point if your a competitive bodybuilder.

I personally disagree with that statement, but just my opinion and what works for me...from a sanity and quality of life standpoint, I need to change my contest and offseason dieting....nothing crazy though. IMHO, changing foods, like adding in more cardio, are "shocks" to the system that spike your body into faster fat loss...similar to the way many incorporate cheat meals into diets...shocks to system that spike metabolism
 
When it comes to Subway, it's not too bad, but boy you can sure mess up a decent meal fast in that place.

For me, I get a 6" Chicken breast with double meat on honey oat. No cheese. Once the cheese is on it, it melts off so quick it's tasteless anyways, so why add the unneeded fat and calories??? I go with lettuce, onions, green peppers, with a dab of honey mustard. Get a water or a Coke Zero, and Im good to go.
