I had been using Flax oil. Costs about $25 32oz proteinfactory.com
I participated in a post where Phil Hernon said that Flax is high in lineolic acid which can become prostaglandins, which can possibly
have negative effects (cancerous growths) in theory.
So I got some safflower oil, found it was also high in lineolic acid;
Canola oils seem the best, lower in lineolic and very high in Omega3 EFAs, which will negate the effects of the lineoic acids.
I mix the stuff with my shakes-great for extra calories, especially when staying low carb! And the Safflower oil was $3.50 32oz in the grocery store! Canola is probably just as cheap!

Any suggestions or thoughts?
 
good chart, i would keep using flax though, also consider looking at kilosports.com for fish oil capsules, they are some of the best things for u and very cheap, i take 30 a day, i also use lots of healthy oils in my shakes, it is one of the easeiest ad best ways to increase calories that i know of

bumping, by the number of views i do not believe that enough people have learned the power of fat, ill write a condesned articel on it shortly
 
also MIKe S, i crunched the numbers and mean no disrespect but canola oil is higher in lineolic acid comared to flax. 2.94 grams vs. 1.80 per tablespoon. in fact what i recomend is a ratio of 3 tablespoons canola oil to 1 tablespoon flax oil. Let me explain. In the poly fat family there are two types omega 3 and 6 as many know, we always want to have a ratio in which omega 3 is higher then 6 for health reasons. now if we take in 3 tablesppons canola puls 1 tablespoon flax we get 10.62 grams omega 6, and 11.42 grams omega 3. a winning situation, in addition to this i also take in 30 grams of fish oil capsules a day.

Bad Dietary Fat Choices

Trans fats also know as Hydrogenated fats
(Margarine , low fat mayo and other low fat condiments)
Processed foods and sweets
Frying Oils
(Corn oil, Canola oil and other polyunsaturated fats.)

Good Dietary Fat Choices

Olive oil (extra virgin- dark bottle or can to protect against light damage)
Nuts (mixed nuts- organic are preferred) peanuts not included
Avocados
Lean meats (organic are preferred)
Egg Yolks
 
Mike, I have been taking a combination of fish oil and vitamin E.

I am trying to keep healthy....avoid all that heart disease stuff! lol..
 
I use EFA oil and MCT Oil religiously for the last three years and have seen great progress with my gains and maintenece of them.

You can get MCT oil really cheap through Sci-Fit Nutrition, its a great healthy fat to use IMO.
