Old folks and insulin use... would you?

56 in a couple weeks and have started using it again. 3/7iu worked up to 5/10iu pre and post humalog.
I use it to coax some hepatic IGF-1 when using GH and to help process the carbs I am eating - I never take insulin to just ram down more carbs, quite the reverse.

It's not going to add slabs of muscle, but I don't think that's a wise goal for us "older gents" anyway.
Agree with you. It should be to compliment food not to gorge. Done correctly(at least in my 30s) you can get really lean on it.

As a matter of fact there are certain coaches giving women 1iu slin before fasted cardio to make sure glucose is gone and fat storage is being used.... to me idiotic... but its being done

If I was 50, this is pretty in line with what I would do. Even now at almost 37 it’s more about using it to keep steady BG levels as I prioritize health.
 
As my fasting insulin levels are in the bottom 10% of the normal range even with my fasting glucose is at the top of the range. So i am thinking about starting insulin for health benifits and wouldn't mind some extra muscle thrown in for a bonus.

I also really like what @b-boy used to do. A few units pre workout only with injectable carnitine.
 
I dont know what your age is other than over 50 based on your post and I dont know what your current stats are but adding 10 pounds of muscle is no small feat for someone over 40 depending on where they are starting. Over 50 is even more of an ask.

Do you feel adding 10 pounds of muscle to your existing frame is attainable? If you're running TRT, how much test are you thinking of running to add 10 more pounds of muscle?
10lbs unless muscle memory gains. Is going to be hard or impossible at 50. Im 50. 225 was my top weight. 10lbs more

Honestly I would think a sane dose of bio identical compounds would be safer. Not more than 5iu 3x a week (id do 3iu but not needed) mid dose test and gh. And watch blood work.

Well considering I was 255 to 260 at my biggest maybe muscle memory helps?

I like to do mini cuts and rebound. I still make slow progress within what I'm willing to do. these days id rather be the best 200lbs I can be. At my age. I find every little set back causes more of a slide backwards.

I agree with that...i had h. pylori in april and lost 20 pounds because of food running through me. I dropped all the way day to 202 which I havent been since my 1st show as a light heavy. Ive crept back up to where I am now but Id like to be a lean 220 again at minimum. Not shooting for my bodybuilder weight. Id be too unhealthy.
