Agree with you. It should be to compliment food not to gorge. Done correctly(at least in my 30s) you can get really lean on it.56 in a couple weeks and have started using it again. 3/7iu worked up to 5/10iu pre and post humalog.
I use it to coax some hepatic IGF-1 when using GH and to help process the carbs I am eating - I never take insulin to just ram down more carbs, quite the reverse.
It's not going to add slabs of muscle, but I don't think that's a wise goal for us "older gents" anyway.
As a matter of fact there are certain coaches giving women 1iu slin before fasted cardio to make sure glucose is gone and fat storage is being used.... to me idiotic... but its being done
