I was able to catch both the Men and Womens competition where I live..someone else in the US posted they couldn't find it, thats odd considering the amount of interest in weight training in the US--
badminton! they showed that instead
and it's spelled BAD-MINT-ON - as in a really bad sport, not
BAT-MITTONS - like the little parachute things are the bats and the little raquet is the mittons..

Hardly any here. But saw this "little" dude from China take gold, destroyed his back and got the WORST medical care I've ever seen. His coach shunned the medical help and decided a hefty, aggressive backrub and manipulation was the best way to deal with the poor bloke's obviously farked spine (he was crying, honestly).

Love the weightlifting - simple to watch - you lift it or you don't. You got it in you, or you don't. Simple - I can follow that! IronMike

Dont laugh-one (badmitton player) was suspended for testing positive for AS a few years back as it was a running joke on the Radio sports talk shows.

I love that commercial that looks like a real even until the guy is awarded a
good lift and drops the weight. It falls through about 2 floors and onto a guys parked car! Awesome commercial!

Hey I love to see lifting too. But why is the Olympic event the least popular (from what I see) of the 'lifting' sports? Id rather see BBing or powerlifting anyday.
