Sorry I haven't been around much. I'm essentially working 3 jobs. The company that I work full-time for the past 8 yrs was bought out by our largest competitor at the end of Jan. I as afraid they were going to lay me off because their home office is in FL and they have 16 people in their marketing dept. I was pretty much demoted but at least I still have a job and they didn't cut my pay... I'm just glad they didn't lay me off.
In the meantime, our sister company was sold to a different company and the production line was relocated to CA. Unfortunately everyone who worked for that line lost their jobs. Since Everlast's business was so slow, I took advantage of an opportunity and asked the new owner if he need help with his marketing. This has turned into a great opportunity for me to start my own marketing consulting business. It help bring us some extra money that we needed.
The marketing I've been doing for Everlast's business is starting to pay off. He's been fairly steady since the first of the year. I'm doing his bookkeeping, accounts payable and payroll. Then there is my consulting work and my full-time job... so I've got more work than I know what to do with and Everlast is about at his wits-end with me working so much.
Since I've been unable to find a job close to home and I don't want to keep commuting out of state, I'm planning on quitting my old job and just keep working with Everlast's business and doing consulting.
If you know anyone who is looking for help with their advertising, marketing, web design, meeting & event planning... etc just let me know. When it comes to print media, I'm a pro with 20 yrs experience in print production. I've had just about as long in corporate marketing and trade show coordinating and graphic design.
