On a Push\Pull\Legs split WHEN do you do upright rows?

Upright Rows, DB. Bb, Cable, WHAT day do you do them on a Push\Pull\Legs Split?

Since push is typically chest shoulders triceps and pull is back rear delts and traps ….. the medial deltoid sort of falls into a middleman position.
If you do any form of upright row in the PUSH day now it’s not really an exclusive Push day.

If you do them on pull day now you are training the medial deltoids again when you may have just trained them the day before with shoulder press variants.

I have stopped doing upright rows - got tennis elbow now. Also have not seeing the exercise to be "gamechanger". I tend to do shoulders almost daily now. Small muscle group that heals quick and never feels burned out. Caps have gotten even more prominent past 6 months I been doing this, so focus has shifted to mostly rear delts....you never see a guy with too much rear delt.

Personally I felt as though alternating heavy DB uprights rows with heavy upright rows built my traps in to my best body part in my early 40’s.

Physiologically they never gave me any discomfort or pain, maybe that’s why. To me the trap engagement with variable ROM’s including short choppy reps with long ROM is unbeatable

well if you like them and are dead set on including them in your training id put them on push day

I quit those decades ago as they really seemed to cause more issues then build muscle as lateral do pretty much the same thing. And the mechanical leverage with the laterals seems less injurious to me. Back when i did do them i used a chain with a couple handles on them as i could start with my hands closer together then spread them apart as i raised the elbows. Didn't require as much twisting of the joints.

I use an exercise to target a muscle and not to give it a distinction, if i want to target the traps i would do them on back day, if i want to target the medial delt i do them on shoulders day. My traps have always been strong, so i do upright rows to try and overload my delts!

I remember Yates saying it’s the worst exercise upright rows
