On cycle, Help me sleep please .....

Good day everyone. At 46 year old have not done any cycle in a few years, just trt, with periods of trt plus( max 150mg test, 2iu GH, and very random shorts run of Anavar). I decided to put in some mass again, NTN crazy, so I go for 500 test and 200 Masteron, upping GH to 4iu a day. Here is the PROBLEM, as soon as I up the dose night and early morning anxiety kicks in, and can't sleep my usual 7-8 hours, I wake up 2hr earlier than usual full of energy and positive anxiety ( meaning that fortunately I have a very beautiful few months coming up with lots of exciting things happening, new car, new house, new gf, a vacation ecc........
So i Need something to make me sleep properly, as sleep to me it's extremely important in recovery and well being. When I was younger I wouldn't feel any difference on cycle, but now it's a huge difference.
I tried melatonin, valerian root and gaba, they work for a few hours, but after 5hr I'm completely up and can't get back to sleep, full of this positive anxiety in my head giving me a sense of adrenalin rush!! Which is fine during the day and in the gym, but not at 4 or 5am when I need to sleep .
I was thinking about XANAX or something similar, but I don't want to get used to it and then I can't sleep without it in the future. How bad would be to use something like that for 3 months straight while on cycle? Any suggestions?

what is your caffeine consumption like? and pre bed rituals (scrolling/reading/tv)
Could your test be tren?
Definitely dont take xanax every night FFS
 
Did you happen to consider the fact that you’re excited for all the good things in your life and are simply just excited? Lol. You just created a long list of most people’s dream life scenario.
 
I would focus on unwind the hours before sleeping. Minimize screens exposure, dont consume caffeine or other stimulants after noon... What time do you train? If it's late afternoon try ashwagandha, l-theanine and magnesium after workout. Pre-bed there are many supplements which can help. I always use a blend of the most common such 5-htp, L-tryptophan, Macuna Puriens, Glycine, Magnesium Bysglicinate, etc

Some people also respond well to GH pre-bed (not my case). You might give it a try.

It’s funny how everyone reacts differently. I tried taking GH before bed and my sleep is horrible. I’m running it first thing when I wake up or pre workout.
 
If OTC doesn’t work for you try Trazodone or Gabapentin. Trazodone works well for some people and can be used long term. Gabapentin can cause ED issues so I only use it when I’ve gone a day or two with little to no sleep. Stay away from Xanax or some of those stronger prescription drugs for sleep.
 
Xanax for sleep is the worst idea. It is not strictly a sleeping pill. Yes, it will be easier to fall asleep because it "turns off" the nerves and relaxes, but you will get addicted. I don't know if you live in the States or the EU, but in the EU there is a prescription drug available called hydroxyzine. It is not addictive like Xanax, and it even works and helps you fall asleep. Zolpidem is also a strong drug, but you won't fall asleep without it if you suddenly stop taking it. Ashwagandha is also a good idea. And the diet issue, if I have some carbohydrates near bedtime, it always makes it easier to fall asleep.

Your body will likely adjust as you just upped dosages after a long period of time of just being on TRT.

Increasing androgenic load stresses the CNS and can trigger mast cell activation. Both of these things will be short term usually until your body adapts.

In the meantime you can use things like GABA, theanine, melatonin and histamine blockers to give relief. Magnesium Glycinate aa well. I would avoid Xanax as it’s way overkill.

As others said above Trazadone is a good base sleep med, but it doesn’t work on the root areas for this so not sure it’s needed, but an option.

Hydroxyzine would be another excellent choice as it’s an anti-histamine. Great suggestion. 👍🏼

Lol yes, that's what's triggering it, but without the extras in sleep normal, I did try last month, as soon as they kick in the problems start, I stopped everything for 3 weeks and back to sleep like an angel...lol.
