On T3, is extra T4 any good?

Hi everyone,

I'm on a fat loss diet, low calorie (almost 1,000 cal deficit) + cardio (usually 1h to 1h30), I use HGH releasing peptide and HGH fragment with it. Weirdly, not much change (mass of fat)

I have been using 12.5mcg of T3 that I increased to 25mcg and I am still at that dose ever since. As I can (and I have) legit, pharmaceutical T4, i was wondering if I could add an extra 100mg of T4 in the mix and if it would help.

Or would it be somehow "cancelled" by the T3 effects?

Thanks.
David

Up the t3. 12.5-25 mcg is at natural level or a little over depending on the individual. Adding t4 won't do much because the body convert t4 to t3 as needed so your body won't convert the t4 because your already at normal levels with your t3 dose.

90 mins of cardio and thyroid hormones...be careful. What does your cycle look like? I'd rather see someone do 20-25 mins HIIT cardio and avoid t3 till needed to break a plateau.

I've asked this in another thread but where are you guys finding that the body produces 25mcg of T3 naturally? I see it on a bunch of forums but nothing whatsoever on any endocrine sites or studies. What I have found is the recommendation for a replacement dose is 50-75. Also, T3 has a very short half life and should be dosed more than once a day. I'm really open to learning as much as I can so if you guys have any links I can check out I appreciate it. I can provide some if you'd like. Also, when coming off, taking selenium will boost the bodies ability to convert T4 into T3.

And when taking T4 the body will regulate the conversion to T3 as if the body produced it itself. T4 with several smaller doses of T3 seems optimal.

KEY POINT here, that so many people seem to miss... good call, Giants. :)

That being said (let me add I agree with everything you said in those last two posts), response to exogenous thyroid medication is once again a very individual thing, even more maybe than with AAS.

Here in Europe, since the radioactive cloud from the Chernobyl nuclear power plant hit most of the continent in the 80's, we've seen a tremendous increase in the % of the population put on T4 replacement therapy... which means many feedback.

Trust me, for 10 persons the same corpulence, none requires the same dosage of T4 (I say T4 cause it's very uncommon for docs here to precribe someone BOTH T4 AND T3... which to me is a mistake ). In fact, I can at least count 5 of my close friends on T4 replacement, and to get their blood levels in the normal range, they each have to take different mgs, going from as low as 87.5 mcgs to a pretty high 175 mcgs... this really goes to show no one can set up a standard protocol! ;)

:yeahthat:

Catabolism can very quickly occur when too high of a dose of thyroid meds is taken...

I am using HGH peptides (mod GRF, GHRP and HGH Fragment). I've just added Ostarine and S4. At the moment I have no way to tell me if my product are legit (too soon)

I have lost some fat I reckon, but even on this low calorie diet and high cardio, haven't loss much weight nor strenght.

I had blood test for 12.5mcg T3 and 25mcg, T3 and TSH values were within completely average range.

The thing is I have only "underground" T3 (medtech, seems legit lab) but here, I can buy T4 at the pharmacie without a prescription and it's cheap (albuterol also). So i would like to stay on this mild 25mcg of cytomel and rather add the T4.

I know everybody is different, but let's say if I add 100mcg of T4 (roughly 33mcg T3) would it be used in my body or would that just go to waste because there is "too much T3 already"?

I believe the OTC T4 is from animal hormones and is not recommended because it contains other stuff that the human body wouldn't naturally have. Google and read about. I just remember glancing over that.

There really isn't a protocol. All these doctors tell you that as well. There are some studies done that say T4 and T3 is pretty effective so I might look more into that. I've held off on taking T3. I can't help but think I'm just playing with fire here not being educated enough on it. I like cold hard facts not quotes from someone from another forum from 2010. Lol there seems to be a lot of that when you search for answers.

I live in the Philippines, I buy it in a normal pharmacy. The Active Pharmaceutical Ingredient is levothyroxine sodium

I tend to agree w this baed on my bloodwork. Was on 25mcg t3 daily for 4 months and t3 levels tested at normal level. Pharm grade t3. So I believe the 25mcg simply replaced my natty production and im not getting anything extra from it.

But how were you dosing it? That's what I mean. If people are basing this "25mcg" off blood work then that can't be accurate. I mean I get it but to get stable levels of T3 you'd have to dose at least 3 times a day because it's in and out of you so quickly. From what I gather if we were to dose T4 and T3 then we would see an increase but even then trying to come up with an accurate dose would be damn near impossible as it's completely different for everyone.

Good point. I had blood drawn first thing fasted. Hadn't taken it yet so it'd have been about 24 hrs since last dose as I take it once each morning.

Exactly my HRT is 40mcg I do 50mcg this puts me in high normal range.

I used to get a pharma grade combination tablet from Mexico with a blend of T3 and T4 called CYNOPLUS. I liked it. The dose was weird. Each tablet contained 25mcg T3 and I think only 5mcg T4.
