Only need a car for a few months

Hey, I'm spending a few months in the midwest (from az) and wondering what I should do about a car. I'm sharing a truck with someone but it varies all the time. Would it be smart to just buy a junker for a couple grand and then try to sell it back for the same amount (or close to it) when I leave?

Why not try leasetrader.com or swapalease.com?

Those sites allow you to buy out the remaining portion of someone else's leased vehicle. You can sort by "months remaining", and believe it or not, people are interested in getting out of a lease that has only a few months remaining.
