Opinions on the Philips Respironics DreamStation?

I've have that model for a few years and haven't had any issues with it. The only knock is that compared to my previous one the Dream Station has a pretty small water reservoir for the humidifier.

You might want to check Craigslist or eBay to see if you can find one cheaper.

Apparently, no prescriptions needed through amazon.
Federal law requires prescriptions on all CPAP devices. It is likely a 3rd party seller on Amazon that will collect that when you try and finalize your purchase.

If you want to skip the script route, then as the poster above mentioned, Craigslist would be the place to go. Lots of people try and sell their machines not realizing they can't legally do so.

Nothing will beat working with a licensed respiratory therapist that specializes in CPAP. There is definitely no one size fits all solutions and if you can't get comfortable with the machine and masks/nasal pillows then you won't use it, which makes it all worthless.

I have that same model and have no complaints, though it's the only CPAP I've used. It's loaded with Bluetooth, data export, and other tech features but I've never used them. Just remember that getting used to wearing the mask all night won't be easier with any particular model, you just have to get through the adjustment period. The automatic feature is nice though as it'll adjust air pressure through the night based on your breathing.

I agree with Reno911 on price - you can definitely find it cheaper. I got mine on Craigslist for $400.

I use the DreamStation. No complaints from me.
And like everyone mentioned before, craigslist is cheap.

I had actually went through all the testing of getting a CPAP with my medical insurance and it ended up being a no-go. Something about the insurance I had gotten (I was a freelancer so was going straight through Covered CA) wouldn't cover it. We ended up going into a CPAP store, bullshitting with the salesman for a little and walked out with a DreamStation, mask, all the bells and whistles for around $600 I think. Not bad.

I honestly can't sleep without it.

I think the dreamstation is the most quiet on the market and best value for the money.

The Resmed Airsense 10 is another great option too.
