Oral minoxidil vs topical minoxidil

Has anyone tried both? If so which one gave better results? Also curious if you can take both oral finasteride with oral minoxidil, most common protocol would be oral finasteride with topical minoxidil, just wondering which would be a more effective treatment for hair loss, is oral minoxidil more potent than topical?

Yes, you can take oral finasteride with oral minoxidil. Oral minoxidil at 5 mg per day is more effective than topical in most. The down side with oral minoxidil is it causes hypertrichosis all over your body. It also may reduce your blood pressure at that dose.

thanks bro , I have heard though that hypertrichosis sometimes corrects itself without even discontinuing the medication also when stopped it completely reverses itself , plus isn’t that a very rare side effect of oral minoxidil? now there are people who are born with a genetic defect aka werewolf syndrome but that’s completely different than someone taking oral minoxidil , plus we are men what do we care about body hair growth lol , jk , I appreciate your input bro

It isn’t anything like the genetic defect. Nothing that severe. Body hair may grow thicker. Same with facial hair. I don’t know of anyone that has discontinued oral minoxidil because of the extra body hair. The extra hair will be retained as long as you keep taking the minoxidil. Like you said, most men don’t care about the extra body hair either.
