Anyone here into fishing, besides me? I live very close to the N Gulf of Mexico, love to take my boat out and chase the grouper/red snapper and others, not too into the inshore fishing. It's about time for the fall grouper bite to kick in, snapper is offseason, in spite of the snapper population going nuts (could load up a 120qt cooler in less than a hour).

Also a life long fishermen bro. and Florida seems to have some of the top salt water fishing in the world. that's my main reason for relocating down their. just cant get enough of the water.

thanks for the invite brother. but i haven't made it there yet . still in the northern part of the country. as soon as the real estate picks up i hope to be joining you.some awesome pics i cant wait.hole different type of fishing. will take some retraining on my behalf. but red fish and snappers seem similar to strippers. i have watched some shows on HD on those groupers they seem like quit a work out.

Snapper are very aggressive school fish, averaging about 8-10 lbs, so likely smaller than stripers... The initial pull of a big grouper is incredible, i've seen 300lb men hollering for help, from me, 190 lbs:D Baddest mama jama is the Amberjack, i don't even like hooking them anymore, they're too hard and not very good on the table...

I live in North Florida, Gator. I use to be a REALLY avid fisherman until I had to sell the boat for tution. But once I graduate, I will be looking for another boat in a few years. As of right now, I am just a boat "hoe"

Quite the avid fisherman and fish keeper here. Love both sides, all catch and release though. I don't eat fish.

Nothing like walking to my uncles huge ass pond with a six pack and catfishing. Fun times.

Anyone in the northern California to Washington area? Heard there was a species of shrimp that is taking over the freshwater areas there. Want to get my hands on some!

I fish a good bit mostly for speckeld trout and redfish , the winter is a great time to tie into some good yellow fin off the coast of Louisiana though I haven't gone this year

Anybody watching this damn hurricane headed into the gulf , all year with no trouble ajust a few weeks before the season is over this thing pops up.

That storm should help out the fishing, i've heard old timers say how these late storms will "blow" in some grouper that have been way out, not sure how that happens, but evidently it works...

JC Ladson - if you're close to Tally holla...

I love surf fishing. IMO nothing beats an awesome day surfing and chillin on the beach and then a fire on the beach at night while you run 2-3 rods pullin' em in for a late night fishfry! :D

Actually due east of you.

Only fresh water lakes here.
Love to catch and eat Crappie and walleye :)

Walleye are a blast to catch. Use to go to the cabin every summer and fish for them on the egdes of the banks in 40-80 legdes with nightcrawlers

I consider myelf and all-around outdoorsman. I love fishing! Hunting too! I fish mostly for trout, Brook trout, rainbow's, and native cut-throats. Occasionally steelhead and or salmon. Ahhh the benefits of living in the pacific northwest!

Love fishing, I bought a house on a lake in upstate NY, and love to catch large mouth all day, but I also like to take a ride to the jersey shore and surf cast too. Stripers and blues!!

I wish I still had a place to go to and get away for a few days with my girlfriend. We enjoy fishing together. Nothing more relaxing than walking the creeks catching brown/rainbow/brook trout

I used to travel to that area regularly, fished the Deschutes quite a few times, and some smaller rivers S of Portland, love that part of the country! Oh, and went into Washington to salmon fish, dude was telling us about all kind of supernatural critters around there:eek:

That is the most fun you can have fishing IMO

Same here...my brother is a Musky guide in northern WI near the UP of MI, and that is great hunting. When Musky season is over...it's over to walleyes. I"ll head over to Lake MI and go salmon fishing as well...great stuff!!

I love to fish! I mostly fish for pelagic fish. I live in sw florida and fish at least once a month in the fall, winter and once or twice a week in the spring and summer. We also go to the keys 4 times a year. Love being offshore.
