My friend's daughter was diagnosed with this recently.

Dated one for 4 years up until recently. Wildest mindfuck of my entire life - will have severe trauma for the rest of my life due to it. And a criminal record (due to no fault of my own).

Feel free to PM me. I'm sure we'll have very similar stories (somehow they all seem to do the same exact shit, textbook).

Recently they have been looking at BPD as being caused by Childhood trauma. Instead of just treating the symptoms, that initial abuse needs to be addressed.

No, but my step daughter was diagnosed with bipolar disorder and had an episode of psychosis which was new to us all. It has been a challenge but she is doing well now as she excepts and has excelled with treatment. Best of luck with your family member.

My friend's daughter was diagnosed with this recently.

The guy is my closest friend. Have known him about 18 years. His daughter is currently 30. Im not close with her, but I have interacted with her plenty of times and see how she interacts with other people many times, plus my bud usually tells me about the drama she gets herself into.

Her Personality: She is legitimately intelligent, if I had to say her iQ is slightly above average or more. She overtly emotional, will easily fly off the handle. Has trouble maintaining relationships and maintaining jobs due to her inability to work with others. Shes a hard core liberal, smokes weed every day several times per day. Highly social, loves talking to people. Shes a teacher by trade (specifically enjoys working with special children) and even though she could easily get a much higher paying job, she refuses to do it because "money is not and should not be everything" yet she occasionally finds herself assed out and occasionally has to move back in with my bud and his wife. Shes actually very cool and I like talking to her, but im careful not to get too involved with her. My bud says she has improved since beginning therapy, I dont know if that includes drugs or if its just cognitive work.
