Happy for you, but does that mean you lost 250,000? That don't seem fair to me
The only true winners here were the attorneys. They made bank.
Welcome to the cost of doing business.
Money is just government paper man…don’t sweat that shit…Sadly bbxtreme is 100% correct. The only people who ever win in these lawsuits are the attorneys. Even in a frivolous lawsuit its damn near impossible to recover your legal fees. It sucked donkey dick having to pay for that shit but thank god its over and the money is spent and I didn't have to go into debt to cover it so at the end of the day I'll take the "win".
Congrats! That sounds like it must have been mental torture.Hey fellas,
Man these last 24 hours have been just mind-blowing. If you recall I was dealing with a major lawsuit. Without getting into the weeds it was a previous business venture where both sides felt they were owed money by the other. We decided since the amounts were similar and offset we would just take it was a wash - they sued. Over the last 12 months I have spent close to a quarter million dollars defending it. Yesterday the magistrate judge in federal court recommended all claims be dismissed. And the cherry on top is I was approved this morning for an SBA loan to buy out my partner - I will now own the business 100%. I've been living like the hobo for the last year plus and I honestly just can't wait to get back to my life!
XOXO

Got plenty for both…Congrats man. I’d invest the money in stocks instead of spending it on cars and other things though. lot of growth potential over the next few years
I went through something similar (not to the full monetary extent spent) about 1.5 yrs ago.
It put me in a very dark place mentally. If it weren't for my kids, I honestly don't think I'd be here today with how bad I was mentally. My lawyer sucked, I did all of the work for him, and he kept advising me to do the opposite of everything I found. It got to the point where I told him "say this or fuck off". He finally did after about 3.5 months of back-and-forth with their lawyers (racking up hourly billing in the meantime) and the other lawyers realized I had them by the balls. They relented, cost me $10k (should've walked away owing nothing and actually getting $$$ from them) but it was worth my sanity.
My lawyer called a few months later and said "our accounting shows you still owe ~$3k"
I simply told him I'd be billing them for the work that I did to win my shit, and my hourly rate dwarfed theirs because I had another job/business to run so it took time from my family. Never heard back.
I'm glad it worked out for you, nothing worse than dealing with legal shit
Hell no!! I’m not encouraging this!!Perhaps a meetup and training session in your future!
