OT - Life Insurance

My wife and I had been talking about possibly getting life insurance instead of mortgage insurance and last week was my birthday and I rarely do this, maybe once a year but I smoked some weed, yes I was a bad boy :\. And then of course the wife tells me, btw we are getting life insurance, and of course we all know they do urine and blood tests..... so I read max 10 days and the weed should be out of your urine but what about the blood.....? Am I in trouble?

They say up to 30 days but thats for chronic users and can be a little longer for them a one time toke will most likely be undetectable in 7-10 days but there are so many factors attributing to this such as diet/metabolism/hydration level/ no one can say for sure

Dude why are they doing blood and urine? Usually it is just a mouth swab in the office and you are done.

You can get life ins. real easy and fast though you credit card. Maybe not enough coverage, but no medical exam.

I sell life insurance here in FL, and if its over $200k than blood and urine is tested. and yes you will be fine, nothing will show up...i just had a pothead get a $400k policy

usually insurance company wont deny you for testing positive for pot.they know you aint going to die or overdoes from it.

you have more of a chance of deny for being over weight than for smoking the devil salad

Thx for all the replys, makes me feel a little more at ease. What's funny is that I smoke maybe twice a year and of course on the paper they ask you approximately when you last did it and I remember back in August I had so basically they put me down as a "smoker", can you believe that, you need to have smoke no weed for a full year to lose that status... so obviously my premium will be higher for 2 months, no big deal but that just shows you that being honest sometimes isn't the best way to go :\. I found it kinda of ridiculus but o well.

depends on the carrier...some allow occasional use of weed in non-tbco rate classes. you should call SelectQuote or AccuQuote to get a more competitive rate
