OT - meal prep containers

Just switched jobs where I’m now working longer shifts on the go and need more meals. I’ve been using some meal prep containers I got at a grocery store but time is limited so I’m microwaving the food in the container which I don’t like doing. Even though it says BPA free, I still don’t trust it. The food is also barely fitting in the containers.

I tried 6 pack fitness in the past but sent the containers and lunch box back bc they were so small almost like for someone dieting.

Meals are larger so I need something big.

I bought some glassware containers off of Amazon. The lid is plastic but the bottom part is glass. I really like them overall. I have broken one before getting careless with my lunchbox. Only downfall I've noticed thus far.

Like these?

How much meat and rice can you store in there? Looks kind of small
I use the ones that dont have a divider. It holds around 500g of ground beef. My meals are usually 200g cooked rice 200g cooked ground beef, turkey or chicken

Instead of trying to fit you entire meal in one specific meal prep container, try picking up a bunch of Pyrex glassware and bring multiple containers. Just throw one or more containers in your lunch bag depending on what you’re having that day.

I have a ton of the prep naturals 36 oz containers. The only issue is that after using them for a year or two a lot of the lid tabs won't stay latched.

I fill them with 200g cooked rice, 200g shredded chicken, 90g mixed veg and that's about as full as they can get.

Costco has great one time use plastic containers right now.. like 100 for 8 bucks or something. Perfect for on the move.

Or again costco has glass Tupperware sets for cheap.

I’ve given up on glass containers. Too heavy and take up too much room.

Biggest and best upgrade I’ve made is a meal prep backpack. I went with evolutionize backpack and I love it. I want to get a bigger one but they all look like some gay fucking tacticool bag which drives me fucking crazy.

I use these for storing food - https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B01N90AWNF?psc=1&ref=ppx_pop_mob_b_asin_title

I use these for eating - https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B019F0771A?psc=1&ref=ppx_pop_mob_b_asin_title

Both are glass and BPA-free.

But @Brock456 has to take me off ignore to get the goods!
I love these, use them, my only complaint is that the top ‘flaps’ are the weak spots. (You might be able to buy replacements.) But I’m talking, maybe, years. Otherwise they are great.

I agree - I have multiple containers where one of the flaps has broken off. But other than that I love them, been using them for probably 7-8 years.

I go to heb and buy these every couple of weeks and throw out the old ones..they are usually in a 3 pack on sale for $1.97…bpa free and all that shif..like it matters

I just put chicken boobs in ziplock baggies, boiled potatoes in different baggies, and whole olives in another bag. Grab #of items needed for each meal lol
