I had really severe sleep apnea (90 sleep disturbances per hour, which they said was the highest they had ever seen). I had surgery (actually multiple surgeries) for it, which definitely improved it; but they said I still needed a CPAP.
I tried to sleep with it for a few months, but I would always rip it off in my sleep. Apparently, people who have had the surgery have a difficult time tolerating CPAP if they still need one.
A couple of people here suggested wearing it while awake to make it more tolerable during sleep. So I scheduled a sleep study so I could get another CPAP, but the appointment was six months out and I ended moving to Texas before the appointment came.
Lately I've been sleeping with those nose strips at night, and I feel like I sleep better with them and I don't wake up with a dry mouth from mouth-breathing during my sleep.
Apparently Tirzepatide has just been FDA approved for sleep apnea, so that gives me another reason to try that.
