Haven't visited this site in about 7 + years since I stopped bodybuilding. Since then shifted to losing weight and health.

This led me to self discovery of the carnivore diet.

started off with 24 hour fasting which then led to keto diet and 96hr fasts which then led to realizing the plants in the keto diet were doing nothing but causing digestion problems, end result carnivore diet. After a few months into carnivore I started listening to all the carnivore docs

Now I'm over 2 years of eating nothing but beef, eggs, bacon, butter. This has been 99.9% of my food the last 2 years.

Feeling very good, eat as much as I want, 205lbs 15% bodyfat. haven't touched a weight in 7 years and ride bike 100+ miles per week.

Ended my unhealthy relationship with food caused by bodybuilding/dieting/bulking etc

Anyone have any questions about carnivore, let me know and Ill answer based on my experience.

Congrats on getting your body, and mind into a healthy place man, carnivore may not be for everyone, but it certainly has been a path that has helped some achieve their goals. Having worked with a lot of gus, and of course my own experiences, way more guys that most realize have disordered eating because of bodybuilding.

Well actually I haven't lost as much as I want, I'm very muscular for not touching weights for 7+ years, the carnivore diet is very anabolic. even on 100mg test per week with blood levels of 500 test

There was an adjustment period of around 9 months after stopping carbs where I felt very flat. Now I feel very full, would blow up if I touched a weight.

If I was to body build again (which I'm not) I think I could do it without carbs

Yes I was definitely messed up food wise, getting up to 320lbs during bodybuilding created an eating habit that was hard to beat.

Shrinking down from 270lb lean was also mentally tough until one day you realize no one really cares
 
Carnivore diet people are about as bad as Crossfitters. Just dying to tell you about it.
I can share some very good info on those that are finishing their competitive bodybuilding adventure on how to overcome the mental addiction to being big and focusing on health.

Even drug wise, how do you go from 5+ grams per week, 20iu hg, 100s of iu insulin daily, T3, DNP to 100mg week test. not a mentally easy process

Did you ever think anyone did? People only care to the point they look away and then they make comments about all the drugs a guy is on to be that big. And then they never think abut the big guy again. I only ever did it for me. Been downsizing since i hit 50 not that i was trying. Now with 70 being not that far off i can give you help on how to be a broken down old man if you want. Who has had good blood work and health all their life.

When you say bodybuilding, do you mean competitive bodybuilding like getting on the O stage in open bodybuilding or bodybuilding as in getting pretty big and ripped, possibly being successful in categories other than the open.

Because now I think you could be very competitive with 0 carbs (once body adapts), but Olympia level would need carbs/insulin i think


Everything on Blood work is much better than when bodybuilding, nothing out of line other than cholesterol high as expected, cardiovascular - I've been racing mountain bikes and my RHR has been in the low 40s when in race shape. big improvement from 90's resting heart rate during bodybuilding. I do need to get a heart scan etc done
 
Good elimination diet....id be interesting to see bloodwork. I was liking it until I saw mine...stopped cold turkey went back to a normal diet and bloodwork was again good. Didn't realize till I ended carnivore i felt like a crackhead on it...no energy or libido...but damn was i lean lol

sounds like you were not eating enough fat

My kidneys are good when tested with cystatin C which this test did not, Egfr is 80 due to high protein intake and muscle mass (during bodybuilding egfr was 60)

Not bad for bodybuilding for 12+ years and being 300lbs those years, running abusive doses.

The big improvements came once I broke up with sugar, only way for me to stop the sugar was to stop all carbs
