planning a cutting cycle soon ,and wanted to change things up, anyone have good results with this program

couple of my friends tried it, nothing that special. but you never know, you might like it.

of the few people i know who tried it not one of them finished.

I did the P90X program for a while and liked it very much.
It has cardio and strength training as well. The strength sessions are actually too light for people used to lifting heavy as they only use dumbells and body weight - push ups/pull ups.
The one session I liked very much, to my own surprise, was Yoga. The positions were challenging but the stretches felt so good.

If you are already lifting and just want to do some serious cardio, go with Insanity instead.
The warm up sessions alone will have you sweating. My favorite workout was cardio abs.

Hope that helps.

I have two friends that are currently doing it. They seem to enjoy it and they are getting results, but neither of these guys are into serious weight lifting.

My lady uses it and she looks really good right now real lean and good cardio. The yoga is pretty bad ass I was exhausted after doing the video.

tried p90x for several weeks once before I determined it is a program designed for people who need to have someone in front of them on the tv to hold them accountable for their workouts..

p90x: build some flexibility, agility, stay in aerobic state for ~45 minutes, lift lighter weights using functional movements for higher reps. you feel winded after workouts, even sore sometimes, but you certainly don't feel like you ripped your muscle fibers apart to make them grow.

or, cut by focusing on weight training with high reps/volume, and do 20 minutes of cardio 5 days a week. i got better results this way, most definitely retained more muscle/strength, but to each his own.

I like the X-stretch for sure....definitely keeps things loosened up!!

Never done anything else from the program tho...

It's a fad. Tony Horton is laughing all the way to the bank.

I've had a few members of my gym try it. only 1 finished the program and he had decent results.

take portions from HIIT style training, add in high rep strength training, and finish it off with muscle confusion...there you have P90X!!!! save your money, and do it on your own.

Cardio is what got me, but I am not a big cardio person. Also found the yoga very hard.

I use the AB RIPPER DVD and I love it. Best 15 minute AB workout I get at home.

As for the other DVDs are concerned, I tried most of them and can say that they do have potential. Its certainly a program that you have to commit to. If you half ass it, you'll show minimal results. My Wife likes it though.. She's a total yoga freak, but does the P90x when she doesn't have a class to go to.

" muscle confusion" isn't the actual scientific name is it?
