I started doing cardio last week, and last tuesday i got this stabbing pain while jogging (last 1/2 mile on a 5 mile jog) in the lower right side of my abdomin... it felt like a sore wound and hurt real bad when on impact when jogging. after stopping, i couldn't feel it unless i flex my abs. it got better by each passing day til i couldn't feel a thing on friday. friday i jogged again and same thing happened. on the right side, about 3 inches away from the navel and 1 inch below it.

anyone have any idea about what the hell this is?

(just incase it would make a difference... my endurance sucks ass and i'm working on making it better. so i push myself pretty hard when i jog just to get better each time. don't know if that contributes or not)

NOW YOU WANT TO BE A RUNNER? HAVE YOU HAD YOUR APPENDIX OUT?

NOW YOU WANT TO BE A RUNNER? HAVE YOU HAD YOUR APPENDIX OUT?

not really... strange thing is... my legs are actually getting bigger

no, i haven't had my appendix removed.. but if it were appendicitis, wouldn't it start from the middle of the abdomin? and it would be acompanied by a fever, vomiting... stuff like that? it's just a pain that starts 40 minutes into jogging and it's like a stabbing pain on my lower right side of the abdomin... the moment i stop jogging it stops. when i flex my abs, it feels sore on in that little area... like i did 5 billion sit ups the day before or something...

if it were appendicitis, the pain should come when you relieve pressure from it, and not when you put pressure on it, right?

and what's a stich?

The point you described, (3 inches below...) is pretty close to where you would find the appendix. but it doesnt sound like appendicitis.

however y not get it checked out still.. I m sure the doctors are not that expensive out there??

You just described the exact location of the appendix. It sounds like you're making excuses for it not to be the appendix, but why?

We can't view your medical history nor see what's going on inside of you, so why not just visit the Doc and make sure?

Are you kidding me. You've never heard of a side stich, this type of stomach cramp is very common when running. Some people squeeze it and lean over for a minute to tryn get rid of it, but they go away on there own. Apparently not too many people on here run much (not that I can talk, its been a while for me too). If you know what a normal running cramp is and this is something entirely different I appologize, but its what it sounds like to me. Appendicitis woulda had you layin in bed feelin like your gonna die by now from every case I've seen, it usually doesn't come and go like your talkin. Just my 2 cents, do what ya gotta do.
