Pain killers

I obviously avoid any type of medication while on cycle unless it's absolutely necessary. Due to some dental issues that have been extremely painful, I've been able to work out through the pain, only taking a pain killer at night. For the last few nights, though, I'd take a hydrocodone to help manage the pain so I could sleep, but they are completely ineffective. Off cycle they've always worked (never taken recreationally). Is there something going on biologically on cycle that causes these medications to be less effective?

I dont know about juice making the opiates ineffective, one of the resident docs will have to weigh in on that, but I know from personal experience that opiates kill my "fire" so to speak when it comes to hitting the gym. I work in Iraq and got wounded last october and was prescribed oxycontins at around 80mg a day for a while and it really was difficult to come off of them pain management wise (felt like i had the worse flu of my life for a week) and it took me a while to get my will to train back. So now i try and avoid opiates whenever possible.

try having a stiff drink with it, that will make it more effective :)

hydrocodone keeps me awake and will give me lots of energy for the gym. I'm prescribed tramadol and it works just as good.
