Painting weights

Anyone have any tips on painting old Hex Dumbbells and plates. I was going to use this:

that should work just fine... just make sure u prime them first.. that will keep hat paint from peeling off. also id run a very very fine grit sand paper over them AT FIRST, just to clean them up a bit

The hammered stuff just bubbles up when sprayed on and then dries with a dimpled surface. Damn sure to chip off and get everywhere with just a few dings. Try sanding lightly and then using an epoxy paint. Much more durable. I've tried both and the epoxy is still going.

What I thought about doing with Mine Dragonfire is when they get bad enough renting a sand blaster and stripping them down, then repainting.
