Currently I'm 25 and I have been training with weights since age 16. Although I started off weight training to improve a sport I played, like many, I became more interested in the weight training than the actual sport I was trying to improve upon. For the past 4 years I have been "serious" about training, eating, and supplementing like a bodybuilder. I have made good gains, going from 170lbs- 250lbs in this time, with a decent bodyfat percentage of 10%.
Im wondering if at this point it would be beneficial to hire a professional traininer/nutritionist such as Hany Rambod or George F. (for example). I feel like I have plateaued and maybe I have achieved all I can 'on my own'. My view is, I can keep spending money on gear and supplements etc. or I can back off those for a while and save up some money to pay for the services of a top trainer. My friend has Don Long as a trainer and another friend of mine hired Hany. Both said they have helped them add at least 10 solid lbs. I also know for sure that Hany and George both give AAS advice, which would make it even more worth it.

Depending on your height, 250lbs @ 10% body fat is quite superb. You really think you need money for a trainer, or just more money for more drugs? Honest question here.

Is it the diet your lacking, or do you think it's the dose?

Trainers are good for motivation, you sound like your doin fine... stay strong

Thanks guys.
Im 6 feet tall, my goal is to get up to 275 and then hopefully hit 290 in the next several years. The frustrating thing is that my diet is pretty solid already, so it will be interesting to see what a professional trainer would do to make the scale go up.

I admit my knowledge about gear is limited, as I have only been dong it for a little over a year. So hearing an experts advice on how to create cycles would be pretty cool.

Im guessing its going to be around 1000$-2000$ for an off season plan

I have a friend working with George..definitely focuses on gear insulin and GH...im working with Shelby currently...just nutrition, and its one of the best investments I've ever made. The gear advice is out there...i can tell u exactly what george does with insulin...nothing magic. 3X a week. 3X a day
lots of carbs.

My friend has been working with George Farrah for a year and has learned a ton. He gives me every detail of what George has him do...very worthwhile!

Hany got my friend ready nutritionally for the usa and he came in 2nd. Hany definitely knows how to bring someone in their best condition.

From a picture I saw posted here at PM of SHELBY precontest, I have never seen anyone with lower body fat before. Shelby was as striated as Andreas Muntzer. I definitely would hire Shelby for contest prep if I was looking for a trainer!

By the title I thought you were putting together a killer bachelor party!!:p

my feeling is paying for a trainer is basiclly buying a training partner, but there are exceptions out there. i use one pre contest for aas and diet advice and its a great investment but the best advice i could give is shop around for one thats right for you personally, not just by reputation. you might just find out you know as much as they do. 250 @ 10% you're doing something rite.

So you say your at a plateu and you would like for a little help with possibly a trainer. Well if you feel like you need some help why then go for it. Its a win-win; more knowledge, better body, you cant loose! Having a workout partner or trainer is excellent source of motivation.

Thanks for all the posts guys.

Im really interested in the cycles these guys prescribe. In my opinion, training is the easiest part. I love to train and as long as I push my body to the limits and get enough rest, it doesn't really matter all that much if its fst-7, DC etc. if you train hard using any method, you will grow.
diet and aas use on the other hand is a different story. There is SO much to learn. Im honestly just really intrigued to hear what they have to say in this area.

insulin 3x a day 3 days a week? Im guessing that keeps the receptors fresh...

Im definitely going to look into Shelby... thanks for the suggestion

Hello again, what is it you are trying to acheive? Build mass, get shredded...Your stats are pretty impressive; 6ft 250lbs 10% bf and 25 years old i would thrilled with that!

Yes hire a trainer; especially for pre contest preparation. I always showed up in better shape on contest day than when I tried to do it by myself. If you have hit a plateau a trainer may have some new ideas and push you past it. Noel Fuller is another good one especially for pre contest prep.

I wasn't a fan of shelby or alex. Shelby was lazy, and his excuse for a diet plan to follow was 3 numbers, Ex: 50/20/20 (pro/fats/carbs). That's it. I'd send an e-mail with pictures and that's all I'd get back.

I give macronutrient amounts and then a list of acceptable foods so you can build the meals how you like, rather than having to eat some boring menu that I come up with that you may or may not like.
You came to me at 5 weeks out because you didn't like working with Alex (I'm pretty sure you said he never changed your diet at all).

In 5 weeks we improved your conditioning considerably, and we extensively covered cardio and supplementation as well.

You also never voiced any concerns to me about the plan - if you weren't happy, why didn't you discuss it with me, rather than saying all I do is give you 3 numbers? I have many emails between us supporting quite the opposite.

I guess I'm just confused - I've had friends of yours contact me telling me how impressed they were with the changes I made with you in those handful of weeks.
