LOL

wait... 20 bucks for 2 pounds? 25g protein for 35g of it? that's pretty interesting actually. but it would be incomplete protein no?

This is also on trueprotein.com

It is called Gemma Isolate there I beleive. I have heard good thing about it, however that same question arises in my mind as well, "would it be incomplete?"

I was curious to try it out, but personally I'm only drinking 1 protein shake per day tops now, so might not be worth it, but still interested in some reviews or thoughts.

its a complete protein source, its good but it is similar to Milk Protein Isolate in that as a shake i do not care for the taste but as a puddin its awesome

Pea Puddin, hmmmmmmmmmmmmm I dont know, sounds funky.

Alone, Gemma Isolate tastes like dried cardboard, so I like to mix it with a good flavored whey and maybe some dried egg powder and milk for a nice tasting shake.

Gemma Protein Isolate Powder is extremely high in Leucine, Arginine, and Glutamine, along with a balanced amino profile. It is clean tasting, and mixes extremely smoothly with a lighter texture than Whey powders.

Gemma Protein Isolate is derived and isolated from peas and its natural protein fraction, which possesses a low level of denaturing and is very soluable (mixes very well). Gemma is NON-GMO, low allergenic and gluten free.

As dairy prices continue to rise, vegetable-based products like the new Gemma Protein will begin to change the protein industry.

The bioavailability of this product is at approximately 90-95%.

I use it regularly and with the right flavoring(premium chocolate) it's very good. Different than whey proteins like we are used to, but good.

And it goes for about 5/lb, not 10 like the one linked :)

Horrible. Undrinkable. Worst protein I've ever tried. Plus it's hydrolisized(sp?)
which I believe means it's loaded with MSG.

Not a bad protein, great profile, but if you are used to eating whey then it will definately be different. I get mine from TP, and add it my whey drinks. Inxepensive to bring the cost of whey down, but I would not use it by itself. Alone it tastes gross, at least to me. It is also very creamy when mixed and you have to use more water. When added in whey, not really bad. I do my shakes with 60 whey and 20 Gemma.

I think u tried the wrong one, not the one we are talking about here.

BTW, the worst protein I have ever tasted was rice protein. Much much much much worse than pea. Pea protein tastes great! kinda similar taste to Soy isolate

the gemma is an isolate, not hydrolyzed at all

You guys that hate the gemma, where are you getting it?

i take it as my meal replacement protein (whenever I run out of solid protein to eat... or on the go etc) and it has a pretty slow digestion rate (2-4hrs) which makes it perfect for a MRP

usually have 50-80g pea protein per day... no bloat or anything

get it at true protein

it tastes like shit (goes down fine but has a weird aftertaste... kinda what id imagine dirt to taste like)... i get the chocolate flavor btw

mixes like casein but slightly less thick

CHEAP CHEAP CHEAP!!! which is the ONLY reason i get it

I bought some at Trueprotein the other day. Straw-banana is not as bad as some people are making it sound. Granted it's no muscle milk but it's not bad.

Yeah which is the point, it's cheaper than whey concentrate and a good protein overall. If someone has the money isolates are awesome of course, but if someone is on a budget this is a decent alternative to the rising costs of milk based proteins.
