Pec tendon tear - who has had surgery?

Had a pec injury and went for a MRI and been to see the consultant tonight who thinks it is a tendon tear so is getting me on the list for surgery (here in the UK).

The injury was just under 2 months ago so he is keen to get a move on so that it doesn't retract and cause an issue with surgery.

I need some positivity from those who have had the same or similar as feeling pretty crap about the prospect of being in a sling for 3-6 weeks and not training properly for 3 months (other than legs and left hand side unilateral work).

I plan to jump back on BPC157 and TB500 as soon as the surgery is done. I have never run GH before but is it worth adding that in to the mix too for 2-3 months to assist with healing?

Many thanks.

Never had the surgery

But I think tb500, bp157, kpv, gh, and gh would all be beneficial for healing. Thats the stack I plan to run for my upcoming (unrelated) surgery to try to reduce the recovery time

Sorry about your tear. I think bpc157 and tb500 is a great idea. I'm not sure what Gh will do if only ran for a couple months.

I partially tore pec at the end of may this year. No surgery. I was in sling for first 4 weeks, slept in it for 6. For the first 3 weeks I couldnt tell how my chest does look like as i wasnt really able to move arm due pain and anxiety.

From week 3 I was working with PT, we ended at week 10 as i was able to move arm in full rom and could do some close grip push ups.

After taking off sling my arm including shoulder lost so much size man, cant tell when it was that small. The difference between arms was more than 3cm.

During first 10 weeks i was running bpc, tb500 (2x250mg daily of each) and 2 iu gh. It helped a lot i guess, PT was under impression im healing that quick.

Not really sure if thats positive history. My chest doesnt look bad, regular people not following BB cant spot the difference but I do, I dont like my pec, I wish it never happened.

I tore my right pec off on Oct 20 this year. Just had surgery Nov 12th. I'm 53yo, I was really just getting back into lifting pretty serious, I had almost a 4 year hiatus. I was a pretty serious lifter/bodybuilder for sometime. I was back at it for about 8 months and everything was moving super fast, fat loss, muscle memory, etc...... I was feeling great. I was incline pressing 315 which I had been doing for a few weeks for 6-10 reps. I felt/heard 3 pops. I am 4 weeks post surgery and I am way ahead of where I am supposed to be, I have full range of motion and it is healing super fast. I'm doing nothing outside of test, eating properly, cardio daily and lifting what I can, lots of legs. I did do arms yesterday bis/tris zero pain, no bother at all. I've really never used peptides, I was thinking about trying tb500/bpc157/kpv, but I've been healing so fast I've kinda drug my feet. I do have serious knee pain/arthritis which has been more of an issue than this whole pec injury, so maybe I will try that stack for my knee. Good luck on your surgery.

Sounds like you are making great progress thanks for that! How long were you in the sling for?

Thank you, did you have to use the sling 24/7 in the first few weeks?

I am 4 weeks out of surgery. I'm supposed to be wearing the sling still until week 6. I slept with it and used the waist strap to keep my arm pinned down the first 2 weeks, otherwise I would raise my arm above my head. I feel I am healing really fast, I pretty much have full range of motion. I listen to my body and if it even hurts a little I will not do it. I was able to do light bi's/tri's and rows for my back on a cable machine today. I think things look good, my chest looks good and still has plenty of size for not lifting mostly since October 20th when the injury occurred. I've been focused on diet and cardio and getting peeled again.

Awesome good luck with the rest of your recovery, sounds like you are going really well.

How did you get the tear? Flat bench ?

Just had surgery in February for a Complete tear of the pec and partial tear of the pec tendon where it connects to the shoulder. A definite buzz kill. I only suggest you find a good PT who has experience with rehabbing your injury and never slack on your PT. I was making great progress until I decided to go travel for a month 3 months into my recovery and completing my PT was much harder than I expected and I regressed a bit. Be prepared to be humbled by bands and small weights but everything is going to be alright. I was off my pain meds within 3 days and iced the hell out of it when it gave me issues.

I work with ortho surgeons. My advice is take your time getting back into things. There is no real rush and you will get to where you want to be in time. Listen to the doc's restrictions along with your physical therapist's instructions.

Kevin Levrone tore his pec and continued to do well thereafter.

I had the surgery. Tore from the tendon during a powerlifting meet. Took about 6 months to feel “normal” without gh or peptides. Felt dry as if there was no blood getting to it for the first couple months. Went to work in an arm sling for a few we’re

If I lifted my arm horizontally I could see the tendon dangling down from my armpit pre surgery

I can bench normally now, but I don’t train for strength anymore

The best bodybuilder on the planet "Brian Wood Healy Hankins" has a nasty pec tear.

Formerly know here as:

Vespa103 (2005-2007)
iKite103 (2011-2015)
MrMaui (2015)
Dadbod3000 (2020)
Icarus (2024)
Dr Claw (2025)

But banned all the time for his sociopathic behavior. His "Zane-Like" body cannot be denied though!!

Has the back width of an ironing board though... And that hairline.. Wow..

His back, hams and calves are indeed beastly and GRAINY!!

Just to update you all that I had my surgery yesterday, I had actually torn the bottom part of the pack from the tendon so I had to have that reattached. I started TB500 on Monday evening and I have taken my first jab of BPC 157 today which I will be doing every day.

Being in a sling is a complete pain in the bum so I just want to get better so I can get back to some normality.
