PEG 300 and PEG 400

what is the difference between the 2? Can one hold more than the other solution wise? If you have something that normally calls for peg 300, and you dont have it at the moment, can you substitue peg 400 instead?? Just curious.....

Sort of, the numbers are its weight in daltons (Atomic mass)
And no you should use what the recipe calls for as thats what we're talking about.
Normaly the harder things to put into a solution like nolva or winny require a higher number ie; PEG 800
Where as easier things like an oral dbol can be achieved without it and 190 grain will sufice as well as PEG 300 or 400.

cool. Well my friend was thinking of isotretinoin. He was using peg 300 with good results, ran out, and his supplier is out of 300, but has 400, and 600.....

good info but winny does not need anything higher than peg300. my pal has made it at 50mg/ml with just peg300...

wonder if isotretinoin will be fine in peg400?

It all eventualy comes down to the purity of the raws.
More pure raws allways relates to easier to hold, less solvent percentages used ect.
Less pure raws allways relates to harder to hold, more solvent percentages used and sometimes having to use other solvents like guaiacol.

so with that being said, the ISO came from a reputable board sponsor. It seems pretty damn pure. Would using peg 400 be worth a shot?

Yes it is worth a shot, theres not am extreme difference between the two PEG you mention, I just try not to deviate to much from a recipe.

But if something called for 800 and you tried using 300 then you may have issues.

Thanks, I use to dabble a bit in the HB side and thats where my interest still lies although I found it to risky to continue my experiments, I still learn in reading still however.
I think at one time I had everything skyfire had ever wrote on a board in a folder just to re-read it.

I also have to use the 400 instead of the 300 for my test suspension...Should I use the same amount of the 400 that the recipe calls for with the 300?

ok, sounds good im goin for it,lol. Now with PEG, is it the higher you go in numbers ( 300, 400, 600, 800 etc), mean it holds stronger, and has more viscosity to it??
