Peptides for opioid withdrawal?

I have a friend who's trying to come off painkillers. He was on for months after the accident. He wanted to switch to kratom and taper off that so he doesn't have such bad withdrawals. I've been looking into some of the newer peptides. Does anyone know if any peptides can assist or be beneficial during this withdrawal period?

thanks

Opiate withdrawal sucks. If he wants a less painful route then he should seek out a doctor for Suboxone. This will eliminate the withdrawal symptoms, but he’ll need to be on a taper off plan. Basically tell the doctor he wants off the opiates, and Suboxone quickly. They’ll form a schedule to slowly ween him off where he won’t experience much discomfort.

Course he has got to really WANT this on his own!

Careful with the Kratom. I’m 9+ years clean, still heavily involved in the recovery community/meetings. Seeing a lot of people just as hooked on Kratom as they were on the opiates. Supposedly terrible withdrawals too

Does your friend exercise, does he have any hobbies? Because as far as physical symptoms go, suboxone will be very good; I personally used buprenorphine alone. But mentally, that's a different story. Exercise is the best thing to feel better, so he needs to keep his mind occupied with something pleasant during withdrawal. From what you've written, it should go well. I wish him luck and keep my fingers crossed!

And I don't think there are any peptides that support withdrawal; it would have to be something that works on opioid receptors.

i've heard anecdotes that retatrutide and other GLPs are good for addiction as they have an effect on the dopaminergic reward system. not saying it will help with withdrawals at all, but with cravings definitely.

might be worth seeing an actual medical professional though instead of self medicating

I would have him look into Naltrexone with his Dr. I will say that I have heard persons who were heavy weed users and boozers who have lost the urge after using Retatrutide for a while.

HGH will help with sleep and recovery significantly
Propranolol will help with epinephrine (i know, not a peptide)

Loperamide/immodium isnt peptide either, but is a lifesaver, as is cannabis, but only for some. It will help a lot along with the kratom

Some people have claimed Selank and Semax have helped, but reviews are very mixed there.

Dont stop exercising. Doing some form will help you heal exponentially quicker, even when you feel like you are literally dying

100% this.

GLPs will nuke future urges by blunting the dopamine reward system (applies to food but also seen plenty of people report the reduced drinking/smoking urge after starting GLPs). I would imagine it could apply to opiates as well?

But also like you said it probably won’t do anything for the actual withdrawals

He'll just trade a kratom addiction for opiate addiction. For some people getting off kratom is a nightmare. Id just go talk to a doc about suboxone

yes i seen some stuff on reddit suggest generic brand immodium and liposomal vitamin c in mega doses for opiod withdrawl, just trying to get as much help as i can.

Imodium didn't do shit for me personally, I wound up on methadone for a while but would always relapse. The best thing I did was buprenorphine and I didn't have to do it long

Suboxone really just puts a mask on and you end up getting addicted to that and the withdrawals are 8-10x's longer than most opiates because of the half life. heroin for example takes about 5-7 days to withdraw and suboxone is just getting started at that time and lasts for about a month and then you have another month you still can't sleep. Good luck to your friend. Unfortunately there is no easy way out of this. I hear some rehabs will basically put you in a coma for a week while you detox and you wake up feeling normal again but I'm sure that costs a pretty penny.

i heard from a few its got to be a certain type of immodium like generic not brand name not sure why that matters and 10g liposomal vitamin c thru out the day.

What exactly is immodium suppose to do here ?

Loperamide will cut the edge off. It will not make you well. You have to dose high, bare minimum 10mg. I wont recommend any higher because it has some risks, but many, including me, have gone much higher in desperate times

It doesnt matter if you get generic, but whatever you do, don't get somrthing that has other ingredients, as loperamide is often combined with anti gas drugs that you do not want to mess with

Getting on suboxone or methadone is a good choice for some, but it is just replacement. It's a much less damaging addiction, but it's still very much opiate addiction

Cerebrolysin 20 ml a day for five days has eliminated most withdral symptoms according to leo and longevity as well as quite a few reddit posts.

It’s gonna suck, there’s really no way around it, that first week is gonna be terrible but once you get past that it’s mostly mental, 12 step meetings work, I’m not saying he’s definitely gonna need that but coming from someone who’s been through it thats the only thing that worked. Suboxone, methadone and kratom are terrible ideas, Most of the people that tell you suboxone is great are the ones that are still on it after years. Suboxone works great to get people off the street but majority of people either stay on it because it makes them feel normal and they’re scared to come off or they taper off and go right back to the races

Suboxone and methadone can reduce the pain of withdrawal but they only work if not self-administered. Otherwise, most just transfer dependency before eventually resuming opiate use. Pain and discomfort are an inevitable part of opiate withdrawal. It's relatively brief though, followed by an indefinite period of staying opiate free. I would be all over Reta. I can't imagine it wouldn't temper post-withdrawal urges.
You are a good friend. Good luck to you and your buddy.
