So I eventually want both but what would you guys say would serve me better to start earning some side cash. I have been in the fitness world for 20 plus years and was a ranked powerlifter and fought MMA for 8 years and as part of the New Year I want to finally get both certificate but I travel about 80% of my life right now for work and was hoping to start a small business on the side until it builds. I was thinking the nutrition certificate may be the better way to start due to I can work with clients VIA email, Any thoughts???

With the amount of travel you mentioned you would be better served with the nutrition cert. Seems like you would not have much time for actual personel training. Good luck with the venture, T

Agreed. I'm debating a similar proposition. However, since I'm not traveling at all and can have a base of operations I'm leaning CPT. In your case without an established clientele or a home base per se that would be a more difficult route for you based on circumstances. The nutrition cert gives you the advantage of being able to do a lot of your business with mobility

Make sure it is a good CPT cert if you go that route there are so many garbage ones and unaccredited ones as well that just anyone can get. If you went to college and want to bust your ass go with something like a CSCS something through the NSCA.
