Nicolas Vullioud managed to really shrink his waist. Patrick Tuor discussed it on one of Fouad's podcasts. It wasn't an easy process. Took over a year, he stopped working out and got off gear. (I'm sure he trained here and there but nothing intense). Worked on vacuums, and basically let his muscles athrophy. I think you can really tell a difference.

I listened to the podcast. So he lost 30lbs of muscle to shrink the waist and now they are trying to come back on less drugs and less stimulation of the waist during training. It will be very hard, if he wants the same amount of muscle as before, chances are the waist will blow right back, but we will see.

Ben Pakulski was mentioned here, and Fouad confirmed what I suspected, he lost muscle/size to bring in the waist.

Now Phil needs all his previous muscle which is why I think it will look the same or worse (due to age and the tears and surgeries).

I wouldn't count Curry out at all. It's one thing to do what it takes to win it. Imagine the mindset to keep it once you win it! I think Curry will be better than last year. Does he win? We'll see but I think he'll be even better!!

Does anyone know if Hadi is competing this year? Not sure if there are any travel restrictions that would keep him from competing. He's a threat as well. His conditioning is ridiculous and that seems to be a weak point with other top competitors.

I doubt he's competing. I had him winning last time, though I wasn't there so it could've been different in person. The way his skin looks, conditioning, was the best.
